Plus dad Cassowary didn't attack because this person didn't act aggressively & kept backing away slowly, showing the bird he was not a threat! Animals are unlikely to attack when treated with respect and caution.

Mama bear. Cassowary dads raise the young, but since father bears will kill their own young, the term has to be mama bear.
