Casstrom Lars Falt knife. I bought the blade blank and made my own custom handle and sheath.

Rather than buy the knife ready made I bought the blank for a third of the price and set about making my own handle and sheath.
I added a ferro rod to match.
I am thinking of starting to learn to make my own blades but figured I would practise my existing skills first.
Apart from burning the birch handle a little when I overheated one of the loveless bolts while grinding, I think it went well.
The handle was shaped and refined until it felt great in my large hands.
A few lessons learned through doing this.
I can only get better.

That's excellent bro, I love making my own handles and now that they make blanks I gotta make one. Your sheath work is top notch, I've made a few puukko style sheaths but nothing like that. I honestly rather purchase one of theirs for $27 save me the stress LOL. Also the price of leather is getting pretty high now. Overall you can save about $60 dollars building the blanks and buying the sheath separately. Better yet your handle will fit your hand perfectly.

Beautiful knife and good video. I have a knife with a curly birch handle that is a bit bright. If I wanted to add a little more color to my handle what method would you recommend?
