I love learning and watching these videos. I know my health has improved by cooking my food in cast iron at home and not going thru the drive thru. There is something so satisfying about cooking your own , tasty , food.😎

I'm pretty new at cooking with cast iron so how would you clean the skillet after frying chicken?
@CastIronCooking

*I recommend my cast-iron skillet cleaning video, in my cast-iron skillet seasoning/maintenance playlist on my homepage. One video is for light cleaning after cooking, the other one with the Lodge scraper is for heavier cleaning. If you don’t have one I have them in my Amazon store in the description box below my videos. Thanks again for watching!*

Very nicely done, Michael. They look delicious! I have a question. When you deep fry, as in this video, can the oil be reused? Strained and save for future deep frying? Or, is it just thrown away each time.
@CastIronCooking
@CastIronCooking 7 жыл бұрын
Yes I re-use fried food grease. Store it in a dark container in the fridge crisper, or wherever it's dark in your fridge. Light breaks down the oil. Just like in a restaurant, they use the same oil, you just have to filter it. It adds to the flavor and saves money. Just don't mix fish oil with chicken/pork or whatever of course. You can save bacon fat for recipes like gravy, but it doesn't mix well with chicken/pork oil.On my stainless steel seasoning for beginners video, I am using bacon fat. It's in the stainless steel seasoning playlist. Thanks so much for all your support Bruce!

+Natalie if properly stored you can get a lot of uses out of it. You can tell it is time to throw it away, when the food you are frying is darker in color. I hope that helps Natalie! Good to hear from you again! 😁

Good video and i like the wooden handle tip! Unfortunately it may be a while before i try this recipe.. i made a major change in my eating about 1 and a half months ago and so far lost a fair amount of weight... once i reach my target weight i will treat myself once or twice a week to good eating, but for nowi am pretty strict. That said, don't worry, i will still provide delicious, high fat foods, lol, i just may also occasionally throw in some just as good healthy recipes. Also, weird as it sounds, i enjoy watching the foods i don't eat anymore... it kind of weirdly satisfies my craving! ;)

+m1shadow hey thanks for watching! Maybe you can bake the wings or legs and then toss them in the sauce? I lost 120 pounds I have a video talking about how I lost it, and the other video showing The before after photos. A big part of it for me it was portion size. I only eat food the size of my fist and my stomach shrunk down to it. I pay a lot less on the food bill and I am in a lot better shape! I will be rooting for you!

Yeah, Frank's isn't very hot, but I like the flavor. They served Texas Pete in the Army, and MREs came with a little bottle of Tabasco.

+American Nomad they served Trappey's red devil when I was in the Air Force ha ha I love all of the southern based hot sauces, even Crystal if you have ever had that. I also like red rooster. Tabasco sauce is my second favorite and a little bit hotter than Texas Pete, but it is a little bit too vinegary so it's number two.

Well not just the portion size also the price, around where I'm from you can buy a pack of 4 legs for around $3 but a small package of wings is at least $10 just because the fact that they are "wings"
@CastIronCooking
@CastIronCooking 7 жыл бұрын
Same here. I quit buying wings when they were $.10 apiece at the bar and grills around here. Now the cheapest they get are $.50 apiece. The same thing for what used to be cheaper like Beef tongue. Used to be a poor man’s meal now it is considered a delicacy, and cost more than some steaks do. Right now at Safeway they have some T-bones that are bigger than the T-bone steak video that I have on my channel. The one I have in the Video takes up the whole pan.

+Stephen McMurry sweet! I don't know how that will taste with a hot wing but let me know. Are we doing this for breakfast? Or are you in a different time zone. It is 7:09 AM here just make sure your temperature is it medium high. If not don't change it now, because you can't change temperature once you're frying. you want The oil as high you can so it will lock in the juices.

*Nobody said they were wings. Copy and paste title into Google translate if there is an English barrier. Wings are cool but legs have more meat and are cheaper… Unless you’re trying to keep up with the Joneses lol*
