what kind of sand do they use?
@dave_ecclectic2 жыл бұрын
What I see is very poor molding technique. Bad sprue cutting Bad gating. Bad pouring methods Everything is badly done. Just because of where they are is no excuse. Their working conditions are terrible and I'm not talking about the dirt floor. Normally foundries were covered in sand and could cast into the floor if needed. What they lack is knowledge on how to cast. They seem to have most of the tools. Now they need a book on how to do it. What to look for and how to avoid the problems. I am doing this in my back yard and at least understand the fundamentals of casting. As for the non-existent safety measures this is totally on them. For those who think this is well done look at the finished product. 10:52 You can clearly see that the casting isn't filled, there are gaps. left side is easy to see this. Too much metal, the sand either fell out or wasn't rammed well enough giving way to metal and looking like a wart. In the center of this time frame you can see where sand fell into the mold leaving what look like rips - voids. Pitting all over the surface. There is nothing good about this part and none of it needs to be of such low quality.
@vpsadmin7352 жыл бұрын
It's not easy to pour aluminium without vacuum, that is why the result is so poor. It's 19th century
@dave_ecclectic2 жыл бұрын
@@vpsadmin735 I do this as a hobby as well as others- do a youtube search on backyard founderies. You don't need a vacuum and a vacuum would most likely be very difficult to do. A boiling point thing. No oxygen is a different thing. Ignoring just about every single proper casting method does not make it old technology it makes it stupid. 19th century casting was pretty advanced. in fact to cast most metals you only need something like, what? 32nd century BC! It is very very easy to cast aluminum. You could do it in your back yard starting today in about 3 -4 days at most.

Sand, water, clay (bentonite) If oil bonded is very expensive, Doesn't use old motor oil. If oil was used you would see the oil smoke from the pour. The 'smoke' you see is only steam.

how's this kind of job paid in India? I really wonder. I guess in the western world it would be very expensive.
@mrechbreger2 жыл бұрын
@ I have seen videos about iron casting in the "western" world, it was not much different than this one. Sand casting is the cheapest way to do, and die casting is not always the best choice. Clothing is much better however, but the protection of the lung isn't better. Same for people who make streets, we even learned in school that they're more or less done with their health between 50-60.
