Casting Change! Twin Mill has had a metal body and metal base since it's debut in 1969! However, that may have come to an end for the basics. The 2021 release had a plastic base.
I had never unboxed the 2019 New Model Twin Mill Gen-E so let's do it now! I also brought out versions of Twin Mill II, Twin Mill III and Hardnoze Twin Mill.
Special Twin Mills shown were an original redline version from 1969 as well as the Highway 35 World Race Roadbeasts version.

Twin Mill losses it's metal base in 2019 as a Treasure Hunt regular and the final Mainline metal base was in 2018.

I just loooove Twin Mill's! At this moment I have about 70 different Twin Mill I models in my collection and for me the Hall of Fame Legends version (spectraflame magenta) is one of the best! My total number of Twin Mill's is about 130 and counting!!!

Twin Mill is one of the best HW original models created. I liked all 3 generations of the car until they came out with the ''E''... I think they completely screw it up. I get the point they want to have more green, environmentally friendly vehicles in their line for kids. But not putting two engines in the front doesn't make sence with this car, at least from my collector point of view. (They could add dual generators instead of thermal motors?). My favorite is the original redline one, got one in red. She looks pretty!

I am not a Twin Mill collector at all, however, I feel that HW should of never changed it. Being the last from the original, they should of kept it 100% the same and only released it very rarely (keeping cost down). Then used 2 & 3 to go with plastic, etc. It seems they went the opposite way, over release it everywhere in every line, make it cheaper, etc. I just think it would be super cool to say they have 10 casting left untouched. Oh well

One of the reasons I kept picking Twin Mills, was the fact that it still held the metal base, along of it being one of their oldest models. It's not terrible, but, it still a sad fate.

Great comparison, love the new Gen E, wasn't a fan at first, but I've grown fond of its design, same with Deora 3, not my favorite, but it definitely was better than I gave it credit.

Twin Mill 2 is one of my favorite hot wheels cars ever, its also the first memory that I have of being exposed to Hot Wheels, it was back in the year 2000 when I was a kid in kindergarten and a friend of mine had the orange Mad Maniax Series Twin Mill 2, there was also a friend that had the He-Man version. As of now I've got the White Ice Series from 1997 and Extreme Sports Series from 2001, I love them!

I have a green one (Base variation of a Super T-Hunt TwinMill), a red one (25th anniversary, along with the Splittin' Image, which i think has a bent axle system), and a 2019 T-Hunt one, which has the plastic base, a TwinMill 2 and a TwinMill 3, along with the Gen-E I like the red one most because it was the best car in the Turbo Racing game + it fits the entire vintage look and feel of the comemorative versions.

My opinions on all Twin Mill generations: Twin Mill (OG Redline): Iconic. Twin Mill (25th Anniversary): Marvelous. Twin Mill (Highway 35): Pretty cool. Twin Mill II (Gold): Chonky... :P Twin Mill II (He-Man): Same as the other Twin Mill II, but it has He-Man, so I can't complain too much. Twin Mill (Hard-Nose): Goofy-ahh Twin Mill. XD Twin Mill III: It's the "Modern Sonic" to the first Twin Mill's "Classic Sonic", meaning that it's FRICKIN' AWESOME!!! Twin Mill Gen-E: Beautiful for a sleek, elegant take on a new generation of electric cars. Honorable Mentions: Twin Mill (100%): A+, my friend! Twin Mill (50th Anniversary): Black & Gold really suits Twin Mill, doesn't it? Twin Mill III (Rocket League): 10x as awesome as the original Twin Mill III, because it's a Rocket League car now! Twin Mill (Rocket League (in-game)): How could I not say that it's awesome? Psyonix really nailed Twin Mill as a Rocket League battle-car! Twin Mill (Forza Horizon 3): Customizable, and cool. Twin Mill (Hot Wheels Unleashed (both regular and Mobil One variants)): Twin Mill rendered in Unreal Engine 4!? HECK, YEAH!!! Twin Mill (Life-Sized): Hot Wheels made a bold move with making Twin Mill into a life-sized version of itself. Heck, that's what the 100% model was based off of! Last, but not least... In my opinion, Twin Mill III looks more accurate with the original Twin Mill's engines. Basically, the engines on Twin Mill III look like the art for the original Twin Mill

They seem to have made mainlines a ratio of 50% plastic/metal. This and the VW Bug seem to have been the last two mainlines to have lost the metal base. I used to buy the Bug a lot, but won't bother now, same with the TwinMill for that reason.

Idk if 2011 - 2014 Twin Mill is in all 5 packs, but in a HW Legends 5 pack, I got a twin mill with a metal base, aka 2011 - 2014 Twin Mill, maybe it's an old pack? found it in a dollar store with other 5 packs, and I KNOW it's metal cause of the 2011 -2014 on the bottom, but I have a Twin Mill Gen - E, and the base is clearly plastic, while regular 5 pack Twin Mill has a metal one, I need explanations lol

It has twin 454 Big Block Chevy engines connected to a single transmission. Close if not sitting at 1,400 HP. Twin Mill is a very appropriate name.
