'Casting Spells': Man's Occult, Ouija Board Obsession Obliterated After Radical Encounter With God

"I was very involved in the occult, channeling spirits, casting spells, playing with Ouija board six to eight hours a day - all of those things." That's how military veteran and artist Timothy Gagnon described his early years, explaining how he descended into evil practices while he was a young man.
Gagnon, artist and author of the "Illuminated Messiah Bible," an artistic look at the Scriptures that depicts Jesus from Genesis to Revelation, told CBN News about how he fell into the occult - and later escaped. "I was raised in a kind of, for lack of a better word, Christmas and Easter Catholic family," he said. "We didn't really attend that much." Gagnon said he lived at the time as though God wasn't an important facet or priority in his life. When he hit the sixth grade, he recalled an oral report assignment he was given that opened the floodgates to spiritual chaos.
Unsure of what to do, he went to the school library and stumbled upon books on the occult. That introduction to the topic led him into spell casting, playing with Ouija boards, and channeling spirits, among other similar activities - things he did "all day long" and "all night long" with two of his friends who also descended into the same practices. Gagnon said these spells weren't empty practices - that something happened when he would engage with the occult. He said he and his friends interacted with three entities that claimed to be an angel, a demon, and a "lost spirit in purgatory." In the end, it was a true encounter with the demonic.
"When I would cast spells, when we would channel spirits, we would experience supernatural events and things that we couldn't explain," he said. "It's like a drug." One day, though, something happened that stopped him in his tracks. "I was casting spells in my room and channeling spirits and I felt a presence that was greater than anything I had encountered before," Gagnon said. "And I instinctively knew it was God approaching." He continued, "It was the spirit of God that was approaching me, and I was terrified." Watch him tell his story.

I obviously had a very different experience. We didn't go to church but a few times a year and even then it was more out of obligation. In my home growing up, I was taught that people who were very active in their faith were "weird". That is why I didn't take God seriously and became susceptible to the occult. My message to ALL Christians (especially parents) is to make your faith and church attendance a priority in your home if you want your children to follow in your faith heritage.

When I was a child Hasbro toy company sold a Ouija boards then came the magic eight ball and at the library I read a book about spells, and of course it was just starting to be produced more in Hollywood that I can remember with the Bell book and the candle with Kim Novak, and Bewitched was popular. Then my children had charmed and Buffy the vampire slayer my grandchildren had Harry Potter and twilight, as well as a slew of vampire movies. Now, my great grandchildren are immersed. Everywhere is the occult but they’ve also been raised as Christian’s as the majority of children are not but I pray morning and night and quite often in the day for my children’s grandchildren, and great grandchildren that they will will be saved.

I was raised Catholic and the faith was so watered down and infiltrated by Freemasons that I left and attended the Baptist Church for years. I learned the Bible so well that I returned to the truth of the Catholic faith because you need the Church as much as you need the Bible because Christ gave us the Sacraments to get us to heaven, he didn’t give us the Bible. The mass is the Bible unfolding but as children we didn’t even learn that! The Church gave us the Bible that the Protestants changed and modified to suit their beliefs. I thank the Protestant Church for what they did for me, but I returned to the Church Christ founded in 33 AD and I’m doing my part to teach the faith and get us through this nightmare of an infiltration that we are dealing with now. I’m praying for all Protestants every day. We are going to need the full armor of God to get through the end times.

About 50 years ago (long before I knew Jesus) I was with a group of about 5 people and someone suggested getting a ouija board. We played with it for a couple of days and as time went on with it, it seemed that darkness intensified in that room. It was a darkness we could not see but feel. Finally, we knew something was very wrong but didn't know what, and we threw the thing away. I never touched one again. They are VERY DANGEROUS!

Why don't you really educate yourself on the Catholic faith and Catholics personally. I am like everyone else, just that I practice my faith and believe. You can't be Christian even to speak in such a way.
