I lost a Zenon LTX overboard and never had much time using it. Instead of replacing that expensive korean reel I bought the Silver Feather. I'm much more impressed with it! I cant figure out how to get the app but I've watched your videos on the Loongze using the button interface and that's been enough to get me going. Love the size - its at risk of being too small - and love the build quality. Much happier with it than the Zenon.

yeah, the Zenon LTX has been quite a disappointment as a reel that is supposed to compete with the Aldebaran BFS. I hope you didnt buy it from Tackle Warehouse and pay $600!

@@THEREELTEST I've had good luck buying "elite" stuff from yahoo auctions. It was $200 and not a scratch on it but even that is overpriced compared to a Revo SX Rocket with an AMO spool upgrade. I only wish I got the enjoyment of throwing it overboard to end my disappointment.

I tested the non-smart version off that reel yesterday (125 EUR on Ali Sale) and i have to say it is the best CDM reel so far (new level). DC Mode breaks much more than every Shimano DC System and professional mode is awesome. Casts 6g craw over 32m on ML Rod. 10g over 40m (lure with not much wind resistance). It will easily out perform my Curado BFS. I will test on a lighter rod on weekend and compare to an Alphas Air TW. For casting I used Seaguar R18 0.6 PE as main line. Regards from Germany.

Reels to me are tools to catch fish and not to be playing with my phone and reel in the water. No offense to those who prioritize that. I rather stay with the simplicity of Shimano DC and concentrate in catching fish. Anyway good vid and content like always.

As mentioned by the video this reel isn't for everyone it's more for enthusiasts who likes to tinker with the reel.. your argument is same as using spinning reel vs baitcasters. Spinning reels are already versatile and simple while the baitcaster is more complex and tinkery. People would choose this reel because they're tech savvy fishermen who love to tinker with their reel or people who waited for a dc bfs reel.

Reasoning for me is a bit dumb I love this reel because of its dc zing and that it can cast light lures that's all ..he'll I don't even care if I can catch any fish as long as I hear that zing while casting and relaxing at the shoreline or at the river 😅

@@makiredulla Enthusiasts are into fishing, not tackle. As for the spinning v baitcast argument, I use a baitcaster for 95% of my fishing. However, I don't see the point in using them to cast into open water for distance. The key benefit of a baitcaster is accuracy when casting at snags, and the ability to control trajectory and slow down a lure before it hits the bank/snag, not because they are for people that like to tinker.

How does one use the "spinning" charger for the Silver Feather DC reel?

unscrew the charger cap. remove the sideplate. put the extension inside the brake unit and press the button on the charger. If you can turn the brakes on while you do this, the button will light up all different colors

Have you tried to play with the braking profile settings on the app? it seems it is possible to tune the start, middle and end braking independant to eachother... So you could make custom profiles for different type of lures!

might want to contact Dankung Fishing about the saltwater resistance. As for light lures? The spool is small but still heavy so we will have to see

Jenerally don't. Unless you want to reduce the noise they generate and extend lifetime a bit. If you still want to use oil, then use something extreamly light, simething like "Ricker oil" from Abu.

they say no, but if you do want to ad some oil to quiet them down, I suggest some ZPI Fzero or Hedgehog Studios Alchemy Oil.

It's just an advancement in technology. Imagine next time you go fishing, your reel will tell you if a fish is nearby and tell you how far it is below or to the left or right of your lure. So your reel can now be a fish finder.
