This was the second game I bought for my Game Gear back in August 91. I remember being blown away by the animation and thought it was like playing a cartoon.

That music properly sets the nostalgia off! Was pretty horrendous at this back in the day, wouldn't mind giving it another go since I beat Duck Tales last year finally. Platforming is far less my old-school forte than blowing things up.

You deserve a prize for finishing Duck Tales, don't think I've ever managed it!

​@@Lorfarius For reference I beat the Gameboy version, which has the same bosses and number of levels, but some alterations in map size etc because of the cartridge memory. Well worth a look in, it's a fabulous version. The GB Darkwing Duck is no slouch either, but man oh man is that game harsh.

@@voorheesretro8129 Never even seen GB Darkwing, is it very similar to the NES? Might track a copy down.

@@Lorfarius It's a lot like Mega Man and Ducktales where it's basically the same game but with a smaller screensize and slightly smaller maps. The downsize makes it quite harsh at times due to it needing sharper reactions. It has lovely graphics, sound and presentation. One to bear in mind is it can be one of the pricier games, I would maybe run it on an emu see if you like it before you go after it, I think my loose one hit me for about £25 or so. It's definitely harder to track down than the NES version.

@@voorheesretro8129 The more I play the GB the more and more I'm tempted to just grab a Everdrive for it. They don't seem to be too expensive and despite my excitement at first its waned a bit to collecting piles of carts. Having the NES, MS and GG on the go is quite the feat already!

Wow wish I knew what version of this cart you've got since it's playing in full screen for you. Mine plays with SMS mode with black borders around the edges and looks ugly as sin
