It's amazing you hit what I'm assuming is 519 peak amps and the xlx2 survived. I had to return my xlx2 to castle for warranty and according to their website, the xlx2 was tested at over 500+ amps. Mine hit peak amps at 340, the negative post according to castle, melted off the esc. They also told me that 340 amps was too much for the xlx2. Edit: I've got my xlx2 back from castle and it seems to be running good. With a 17t or 18t pinion (not marked and I don't remember) and 50t spur, It went 55.7mph. I have a 48t spur on order and I also have a 46t spur in hand. I will be trying out each to see how fast I can get it to go. If I can hit 65 mph, I'll be happy. The xlx2 is combo'd with the 1100kv 2028 and according to the logs, it hit almost 15hp.

Hey Joe, great work on the vids man!! Thank you for all the info! I just subbed, as I've been watching a lot of your post lately. I've just ordered a DBXL-e 2.0. I have so many questions tho lol! I have four 8s rigs, so not new to the larger scale, but this is my first Losi. I went ahead and ordered a Saga Customs 18t, mod 1.5, 8mm bore pinion. I was under the impression that anything bigger wouldn't fit, with the stock 50t spur. Is that true, or can we fit larger pinions? BTW I have a Max 5, 800kv combo waiting to drop in. I also ordered the aluminum braces and top plate from HH as well. Any other suggestions you could give me? Perhaps what diff weight oils work the best? In my Arrma 8s rigs, I run 20 mil center, 300k rear, and 1 mil front. Would that be too heavy for this rig? Thank you for your time!

I don't get how your temps didn't get that high on a 20t pinion. I'm running the same motor/esc with stock pinion and it gets ripping hot. Bad thing is i can only see battery voltage through the datalog

Well, have you tried turning down the timing? I think mine is at 5 degrees. That can help with temps.
