I intentionally visited Castlerigg in 2018 from Australia, and I still don’t know what disappointed me more- the people standing on top of stones posing for selfies, the raised voices or the ice cream van in the parking area near the entrance. Luckily a later visit to Avebury during my trip was much more respectful…

Beautiful spot is Castlerigg. I've always thought of these ancient stone sites as trading posts and distribution centres for industries, technologies and knowledge of the time.

Its my take as well, but also games/sports something akin to highland games. About the right size to bring in a bull and sell at auction or jump on its back for entertainment.

You may be missing the links to Blakely Rise Stone circle to the west and Long Meg stone circle to the East that form a straight line. There are many sites around that area that may tie into the bigger picture?

Hi Hugh On your drone footage & in the map of the circle there appears to be a small round mound or it may be a slight depression. Im wondering if that was an inspection or excavation area at some stage. Would you know what it is or was?

When looking at Castlerigg it's worth remembering its geographic and geometric relationships with other sites ( Howard Crowhurst - The Megalithic Plan) This site is a major node on a national and international network of sites connected in a complex geometric pattern placed with an incomprehensible degree of accuracy. I love stone circles, I've visited so many over my lifetime (now aged 70) and attended several hundred in Europe and the British Isles. My Favourites are Avebury and Callanish both of which I've visited 10-20 times over some 50 years. But the chatter about Castlerigg is something special and unique. I don't know what they were smoking but if you can tell where I can buy some....I'll probably die a happy man.

Have a look at Torhouseekie stone circle near Wigtown in Galloway. It's not big, but it's all there! The ring of stones, the central stone, and there's even a 3" chunk of feldspar embedded into one of the stones. The landscape is rolling moorland with a river at the bottom (the Cree I think). There's also some 'General's headstones' in the field opposite. On a sunny day it's really atmospheric and tantalising (I think).

At 7:17, they talk about the role of shadows. Has any musical professional ever taken the shadows and used them to graph out musical notes for a melody on flute or percussive tones? They mention how important sound is to the area and how far a sound could travel if the area was free of other noises.

Not many crops around there, it's all upland sheep pasture. Though i've gathered a few good harvests of majic mushrooms in that very field. ;)

You guys really need to talk to Robert Temple some more. His recent book out on plasma is excellent and covers a chapter on plasma balls of light. (Dusty Plasma from all recent research, is an intelligent, conscious and shapeshifting ionised structure). I suspect it holds a lot of answers to unexplained activity or phenomena (such as crop circles and energy centres) and I wouldn't mind betting ancient people's knew this! I think, if all this new research comes to light, it could change our thinking and even lifestyles dramatically. Thanks guys.

Yes you'll feel the energy,just try dowsing it,i did and got a very strange result.Cant find anyone else who has dowsed it to compare. But am sure on the solstice the rectangle faces east in line with the sun rise which actually appears right in the bottom of the v,created by the hills there

I'm guessing these were tools used by communities for determining the seasons and time of year, just like we use Clocks and calendars today! Each Community or Area would have their own circle to tell when to plant and when to Harvest etc. I bet these were dotted all over the World and many have been destroyed by the rise of Towns and Cities!

Not far from my home, their used to be hundreds more stones further out, most were broken up to build walls, it was mostly a meeting place to trade sheep and goods, as with most of the 65 stone circles in Cumbria, I have no idea why these people are making up ridiculous stories about it them.
