Castles by the Sea Unboxing & Initial Impressions

Castles by the Sea (1-4 Players) is a competitive building game inspired produced by Brotherwise Games in 2023. It was designed by Jon Benjamin and Michael Xuereb, with art by Marby Kwong.
Though the box recommends the game for players 12+, it doesn't have a very complex ruleset and I don't believe it would be challenging for families with younger kids, provided the children are accustomed to playing board games.

The box art reminded me of Link and Hyrule (Legend of Zelda). The fact thst they're also the makers of Boss Monsters only strengthened thst video game feel.

We don’t play it as much as I expected. The reason for that is because of the hazards. The hazards can be very damaging and in my family, we don’t like going “on the attack”. I still think it’s a great design, but you have to be willing to handle the disaster of hazards or laugh it off.
