For the next character creation video you should have a split screen with a fillable character sheet pdf and the book open on the page with the character class your doing next. It should help viewers a little better visually 👍

yes, that is a good point. I wanted to do the dice rolls in view, but that isn't really that important for a tutorial anyway.

This was good. Cleared some things up the book assumes you already know. Like in the dexterity section where it goes over attributes; it says dex effects AC but it doesn’t really say how. It just assumes you know the bulk of RPGs use an unarmored base of 10+dex mod.

Glad you didn't bother talking about Encumbrance. It is not a topic worth burdening a new player with. Note: Strength modifier adds to your melee To Hit as well. I think I would put the Weapon Spec bonus in the Misc Field and leave the Mod field for just that - the bonus/penalty on the Attribute. I'll have to look into the Helm AC aspect of the game. Second time I've seen it on a video and I almost think it is one of those rules that will very rarely come up.

Thanks for the reminder I forgot to add the STR bonus to both. Also, I should have mentioned that DEX bonus DOES NOT apply to Initiative Rolls.

I almost had a heart attack when it looked like Bludd was about to forget the +3 Damage modifier on the character sheet. 😂 That 18 is too rare a roll to go to waste!

That has got to be one of the best attribute rolls for a character creation I've seen in a while! And of course it was for a PC you're never going to use 😒

Actually, one of my players beat that roll with 2 x 17s, an 18, 2 x 13s and a 12.

@@DM_Bluddworth I wish I could have got those rolls back in 1982 when I started playing. 😭 Seriously Bludd...you should save that Fighter character you rolled as a backup character for your group...or incorporate him as an NPC in your campaign.

These character type videos always give me a headache, not being able to read along in the book, having to pause and rewind the video, etc. You did NOT rush as most others do. So while I could not fully follow, I was NOT given a headache from this video like many others. 🙂 I would have liked more Roll 20 and book share on the screen at the same time to see them both. Good use of the digital tools, though some will complain computers can not do random rolls properly. I bet that say you have to use brand new casino dice to have proper rolls every time. 😂

for the next one I'll try to do split screen: Form fillable PDF and PHB PDF. The Roll20 switching views doesn't work because the character sheet doesn't pop out to its own window tab.
