Castles of Burgundy Special Edition: a strategy dice and territory board game for 1-4 players, ages 12+, 70-120 min.
This special edition is a collaboration between Ravensburger and Awaken Realms. You can expect a complete re-design of art and layout to ensure that every piece will have great art and enhance in-game usability. Only the best materials (cardboard, cart paper, box, insert, etc.) will be used to provide endurance, and a premium feel.

Correction: you get two workers when trading in a die for a worker Correction 2: only one purchase from black market (the center hexes) can be made on your turn unless you have a hex in your city that says otherwise. Extra note: when selling goods you’ll gain VP depending on number of players in the game. Each mine tile placed on your map gives you 1 coin at the end of each phase (not round). All this info and all other details are shown on the helper sheet included in the game.

I also understood that when you sell goods you get 1 coin + 2/3/4 victory points for each sold goods tile (depending on the number of players (2/3/4))? So that maybe Correction 3?

Hey lady! Thanks for making this video, I couldn't find one on the set up. Although I do wish there was a video that included the terrain tiles so I could see what it's like to play with them too, but this is a great start! Rahdo doesn't include the set up in his so your video is the winner.

For this one I really wanted to make this a get started and playing quick kind of video! I did make a couple errors as another viewer as pointed out in the comments. You gain victory points when you sell goods and you’ll get two workers when you trade a dice for workers.

Excellent explanations!!! Please add a note about selling goods (at about 12:25 timestamp) that in addition to the one coin you also get Victory Points for each goods sold (varies with number of players as to how many VP per goods sold... basically 1 point for each player in the game, so for a two player game, 2 Victory Points ... so your purple marker would advance 4 due to selling two goods)

I totally enjoy your excitement with the game!!! Two more notes to add: At 13:18 each time you turn in a die, you gain two workers, not just one. And at 14:05 maybe let people know that your mine placed on your duchy pays you 1 coin.

Yes the helper sheet gives details on everything and super simple to follow. They did a great job not making the game overwhelming to someone new! And seriously, I have miniature castles!!!!!!! 🏰🏰🏰

Great video! I just purchased the retail version of this game, and have never played the game before. Off topic question: I think I’m hearing some “clicking” of the hex tiles when you’re reaching into the bags. Do you have the acrylic tiles?

I hope this video helps you get it set up to play! I do well with this set up to make it accessible and easy to play! I don’t have acrylic tiles, but maybe the sound is coming across extra “clinky” when I’m shuffling the tiles?

Thank you for the explanation. It looks like a great game. I only miss the competitive element where you can hinder the other player. And i saw in other explanation that whoever rolls the white die changes. You did not tell that

10:18 this shouldn't be true. You should be limited to one purchase from the black market (or from anywhere if you have yellow 6). Does it not say that in the new rules?
