Fun fact: the reason "Vampire Killer" plays in the Silenced Ruins is because the Silenced Ruins are the first area ever in the Castlevania Series, and that "Vamipre Killer" is the track to play in the first stage of the first Castlevania.

It's done by backdashing, jumping and dropkicking really quickly. It's possible without tools but it would be extremely hard to do it fast enough for it to be worth it.

Is the dive kick really the most optimal attack against Gergoth at 10:26?

He has a weird property where you can't get him below a certain health before his shackles comes of after he lands. You can get in one hit to bring him below this value, but another hit will reset his health back to the "lowest" he can go before the shackles comes of. Therefore it's optimal to get one hit in with as much damage as possible before the last phase, which can be achieved with the dive kick.

With Alucard you can do it as much as you like once Gergoth smashes the floor since he can high jump. It could be a pretty safe way to beat Gergoth as it cannot reach you when you are high up in the air. But I doubt it will be fun.

I have an actual genuine question about this TAS: why is Yoko used only some of the time for wave dash cancels and Alucard others? To my layman eyes, it looks like Yoko's uses less frames than Alucard's, so to me it would make sense to use her more frequently than Alucard. Is there an input difference? Does Alucard have some advantage over Yoko in situations when wave dash canceling? I don't speedrun this game so I genuinely have no idea what the case is...

alucard has the super jump, and does the most overall damage without much mp use. switching to yoko already uses up time, so it's only ideal to switch to yoko, if he needs to use julius.
