Y'all are wrong. Castlevania III had the best music ever. Instead of only 1 or 2 very good tracks like Simon's Quest Castlevania III had (almost) only godly music like Opening, Stream, Clockwork oh and don't even get me started about Mad forest.

Things are much simplier. It was inspired by Malmsteen's "Far Beyond the Sun" who had crazy popularity in Japan in 80s. Bach obviously influenced on Yngwie however Yngwie hinself told that "Far Beyond the Sun" was homage for violin music not pipe organ's.

There’s a theme in Castlevania III Dracula’s Curse NES, called “Ascending” or “Ascension.” It’s pretty cool, and besides, you’re forced to ascend when you’re there, because as you climb the tower, it begins to sink into the ground; and once your character Trevor disappears from the tube. It’s RIP, for him.

Konami really knew how to push the NES sound chip to its limits, even in the earlier NES games like this one. It's crazy how much better the NES version sounds over the FDS despite the FDS having more channels available.

The set up in the music seems timeless in a way certain classical music is put together. Both are well done but I think both have a similar influence. Can't place it though.
