I like the original format, because actually watching you play these hard games is kind of the draw.
@andrewericdavison4 жыл бұрын
Pluveus yeah for sure - you’re an incredible player and the fun is watching you execute. I don’t mind if it’s more of a highlight reel as long as we get to see a mix of narration and live gameplay/reactions
@tiannaroberts61534 жыл бұрын
He probably did it this way for this episode because the gameplay is likely full of curse words. The original series was made before he started using family friendly language. It sounds like he probably did the voice over for the video recently and revoicing the entire gameplay would not have worked.
@griffinmackenzie4 жыл бұрын
Tianna Roberts sucks because swearing Ryu was 9000x better to watch
@jonteguy4 жыл бұрын
@MPDeity The sad reality is that those 20% most likely watch other content that is not family friendly whether it's KZbin or somewhere else. All he's really doing at the end of the day is ruining it for people who are not kids because those kids are 100% watching people curse somewhere else. Cursing is bad but it's also kind of fun to see the real emotion of someone who's playing a game or something. Catering to a minority is a bad business move in almost all scenarios because you end up punishing the majority who are most likely more commited anyway, I learned this at Uni in Sweden. This obviously depends on what kind of business it is etc, sometimes you just *have* to do that, but this is not one of those cases.
@ChaseWSanders4 жыл бұрын
@@jonteguy He's ruining it for you by not cursing? That sounds really dramatic. I don't necessarily disagree with your sentiment: I don't have a problem with cursing. Still, I don't think Ryu refusing to curse ruins the content.

I hope you bring this series back! I like the format, where if you play a hard game for the first time, that we get the actual raw reactions to the hardships you meet in the game. Review is interesting, but those are plentyful of, and they are hard to be unique, to stand out, in an entertaining way. Raw reactions however, will always be unique since everyone reacts differently. :)
@sliverpretender31564 жыл бұрын
I think you struck a winning formula with the Season 1 format. The only things I might tweak would be making all first impression videos the same length (ideally 30 min) and including more of what wasn't seen in those videos in the final ranking video (e.g. later levels, final bosses). And do please keep the ranking aspect - it may be tricky, but it's really interesting to see how all the games compare in difficulty at the end.

RYU! I have watched that whole series this past week and watched all your old playthrus of the ehg series on twitch. You were RIGHT. IT IS about the journey! AND your old format where we experienced the game with you was 90% of the entertainment. This format, while comedic, isn’t what your channel is made for. But experiencing the grind of tough old games with you def is so much fun. I say “More!!”

Hey Ryu! Loved the analysis you made of the game, but I also wanted to see a gameplay commentary, maybe you should combine the two formats. Start with your typical "first impressions" with gameplay, go as far as you can and in the end, make a review of the experience of playing it. That would be a best of both worlds cenario. I love this series and you should keep doing them (:

Remember this phrase at the name menu before starting the game. "Help Me". Gives you 10 lives. By the video content, it seems you got Grant DaNasty and Alucard. Somehow you didn't get Sypha, or didn't show it. Each alternate character has different strengths to offer and weaknesses to work around. Each offers a different ending, as does Trevor solo. Replayability was good for this game back in the day. The difficultly seemed unforgiving at times compared to the first Castlevania, but satisfying upon completion. Thanks for sharing the video.

Ryuuuuuu, you just have to do season 2! It would be so rad! If you do end up making season 2 and want some input on the format, I personally love the unscripted gameplay and it's cool to see your genuine reaction to the challenge and the process of overcoming it. If you gave each game like 3-4 videos of just gameplay (edited to show your progress through the entire game) that would be so freaking cool dude! Some games I would recommend: Bionic Commando (NES) Zombies Ate My Neighbours (SNES) Super R Type (SNES) Bayou Billy (NES) Fester's Quest (NES)
