I feel like this stage and the weird mirror in the engine room you get to with Maria were just left unfinished.. like the devs ran out of time and just put it out like this..

There actually is an unused giant Lizard boss in the games data. It might have been the boss for this stage, but considering how long and challenging this stage is, they must have assumed having a boss would have been overkill.

At first I did find it very annoying after minutes of trying to beat it, but coming back to it days later to get my 100% on the game...I somehow managed to do it first try. If you are used to Castlevania BS moments (I played Dracula X before finding this stage, so you can guess I sort of was), then its just a matter of knowing what can await you AND being very patient. Always wait for a bat coming to get you in the first and lower path of third sections so that you can whip it and then jump on the next platform. Not having a boss at the end also made it a breath of relief. Also TAKE THE LOWER PATH AT THE SECOND SECTION INSTEAD OF THE UPPER ONE. THE KNIGHTS IN THE UPPER ONE WILL MAUL YOU. I'd say that Dracula X had me more frustrated in retrospective (Stage 6) but I won't deny that this stage had me cursing like a sailor on that first batch of tries until I took a break. That, and apparently DXC replaced the stage with something *far more difficult*. Likely way better designed, but seemingly even more difficult than this one. All in all, to think that I just cruised this thing on my first try after that previous frustration to get 100% feels insane, and yet the best part is absolutely the music here.

How do you get to this level? I did the 2 different endings for stage 4 and still haven't unlocked this one

You must Kill Dracula and go back to stage 4 alternate

The level is only unlocked if you have already beat Dracula

You have to beat Dracula and find every maiden.

I did both routes and rescued all the maidens and for some reason I still have 98% on my save file. Am I missing anything or is this just a glitch?

This is a late reply but check to see which bosses you haven't finished (it could be Stage 2 alternate's boss, which is accessible only with Maria's double jump).

How is it unfinished when the Trophy notification literally appears at 4:27 in the video? Once you clear this stage at either route and assuming you played through every stage and fighting each stages unique bosses, the game file will be marked at 100%.

@@Rodriguezjr oh sorry I was referring to the level itself, of course it's 'finished' but without a traditional end-level boss and its very 'random' layout and barren aesthetic style it feels like it was under-developed when compared to the other levels, I wasn't saying the vid was unfinished or anything🙏
