Great info Mark! I just did two bucks last summer (both well over 2 years) it was rough on everyone. This is the way to go. They did recover well but do prefer this method.

Thanks for the excellent info. Used this method on my 6 year old Nigerian Dwarf buck. It worked fine and he was chill the entire time. How long after banding can the buck join the Does in the herd?

Could you use this on younger bucks? I find the traditional banders don't fit around the testicles of even a 3 month old buck.

Is 3 years old too old? I have a nigerian dqarf that i decided thats not the breed im running with anymore. But hes a super cool goat who i rhink would make a good tag along partner in my string on lighter fishing trips. Just cant deal with that stench.

If you don’t cut the testicles at around 10 days, will they fall off? I just banded two bucks roughly 2 years old we are at the 10 day mark. And is it ok to wait until day 12 to cut?

Around a year. You want the urethra to be fully developed if you plan to keep them around as pets. Will save you in the long run.

I have looked at whether this method can be used on humans. Apparently it can, but there can be severe problems including terrible pain. Its seems strange that this method works so well on animals. Maybe they want to discourage men from doing this to themselves.
