Jang, something about this review had an effect on me. I've been a "no" on the tree house, and your first review me reassured that I was making the right decision. It's beautiful, but it's too big for my space and your quibbles with it match mine well. Then you posted this, and the presentation with the plants and fairy lights just won me over instantly, and your warmer commentary only reinforced the sensation that my wife and I would be missing out on a one-of-a-kind experience if we skipped it. Thanks for doing a re-view, you should consider doing a couple more like this for the truly special sets.

I totally agree with you, Jang, this is one special set for sure! It may not go very well in New Jang City (unless you create a new nature area to would encompass the tree house, if you had the space under your city!), this set need to be in a central area, even on a kitchen table because it looks great on every side (sorry if I'm repeating myself from the official review video), or even on a turntable on a shelf somewhere. And as for a few mods, adding a taller tree top would certainly make it more to scale to a real tree of that size, or something close to it, and how about adding a few lights to the lanterns, some inside the houses and one under the campfire, now that would make it super nice! (brainstorming a little bit!)

That was really interesting. That little turntable is the perfect size for the tree set, which is cool to see. I could see a set like that on a dresser in a bedroom or on a table in a den or living room. Little trickier with a dog of course, but I just mean that when looking at a particular set makes me smile, I put it somewhere I can see it regularly. Thanks for taking the time to expand upon your thoughts on this set.

SO glad you put this out. The idea of angling the branches down slightly looks so much better thank you for that! One of the first things I did was tile under the base of the tree because I also agree it looks a bit weird. I also Took the carrot tops and inverted them in most places. Not sure why but they looked funny to me sticking up. love this style of review. Think you should keep the treehouse among the plants and if you do other reviews of this style it will be like the seed that started something new.

You could incorporate the tree a themed restaurant, like a rain forest or jungle atmosphere, and the treeehouse is there for kids to play. At the base of the tree could be all the dining tables and you could basically build the restaurant around the tree (while changing the base of course). Alternatively, the whole tree could be the top of a building where they sell camping and/or DIY supplies.

Hi Jang, long time viewer here. I really value your opinions on sets, I love that you took the time to make this video! I feel more or less the same way you do about this set and hearing that it is among your all-time favorites is quite interesting. I personally think it's right up there with 10193 Medieval Market Village as one of the best sets of all-time. I'm planning on making this set my first over $150 Lego purchase. And I've considering making a lot of the changes/improvements you mentioned in this video. If you do make those changes to this set, I'd love to see a video featuring them! Thanks for all the great videos you put out!

I'm probably late here, but i've been watching the channel since the Bionicle Rahi MOCs, back then i really invested in my collection, but over the last 4 years the super-saturation of licensed themes and the slow death of the constraction lines drove me further away from LEGO and even brought me to dable and enjoy MEGA's super-articulated figs and parts inventory. The Review you did for this set, actually brought me to find my parts' collection, remember the joy i used to have making original stuff on LCad and then building it in physical form. Althought it didn't make me get back into LEGO, it helped me take the final step into donating it to my cousin who's getting to his AFOL phase, and seeing his joy made me actually happy, my time with LEGO is done, but the bricks will bring joy to someone once again.

I agree with this being a fascinating set. I think there is something about building trees and organic shapes out of Lego that is just more awesome than anything else one can build. I love science fiction more than most and really liked the space sets and castle sets as a kid, but for some reason my utmost favorite sets were the Forestmen sets. Those were awesome. Maybe it's just all the the green color. I don't know.

This was quite a pleasant departure from the normal review, and I hope you do more like it in future for sets you feel particularly strongly about. I can think of a couple options for what to do with the build. Daniel Johanson's suggestion of making it a part of your buildspace is a great idea. It would also look great elsewherte in the house tucked among houseplants as a sort of hidden treasure for visitors to find (so long as it's placed in a canine-safe spot, of course). It could also be nice to add it to one of your work stations or cleaning spaces (such as the sink in NJC's room) where it might not always be visible, but will be there whenever you're using that space.

I don't know how you guys are building this in 6-8 hours. It took me at least double that time! Haha! I'm a slow builder though. I did make some modifications on mine. I couldn't stand that green toilet paper so I used a white cylinder piece instead to make it look normal. I didn't like that the pulley piece on the basket pulley was sideways which wouldn't actually work so I used a hollow stud and a faucet piece sideways so the pulley is vertical and looks correct. I also added a couple of bunnies roaming around on the grounds just for fun. I also notched the top branches up one spot so the tree doesn't look quite so flat on top.

We constantly try and fit new sets in our towns or cities, it usually turns into a mess over time but you never know what might work until you try it, so I think you can build things like the tree house and make a small display to go along with it, I myself have made a 48x48 baseplate with a water section where the stream on the side is falling into the pond I built using the ninjago water method...it just so happens after I built the display I found a spot... I have a massive water area where the tree house will fit in, on the outside of my Japanese garden build near my theme park..it might not stay there if the transition looks wrong. but it's a spot I feel it could work and I'm glad i tried it out... you never know where it might fit!

I agree with the others that this would make a nice background thing in studio B. Maybe just for a while? It just fits with the whole home-y, calming atmosphere you've got going on there. (In Dutch we have an untranslatable word for it: gezellig!) I also totally agree with you on the greatness of this set! I'm not sure why I like it so much, but it just resonates on my level for some reason. Maybe just because it's a nice thought, being out in nature, having your own cool little space to play and frollick about... Very well put together by Lego! This is all the way up on my "to get" list, mostly thanks to your (as ever) very well done review. This concept of you talking more "off the record" about sets is something I hope to see more of!
