I know from experience how difficult it is to make a channel successful. I’m not sure people appreciate the amount of work and effort that goes into producing good content. So Tim I really hope you make this work and do as well as you deserve to my friend.

I like the design of this with the extra cubbies. I built an 4'x8' one years ago and it's overflowing. One thing I did that you might consider is putting a strap across to make sure that the plywood is secure (I just used a thin ratchet strap). Then you can loosen it some to allow the front pieces to rest against when pulling out the sheets behind. - Chris

You can also add storage containers on the very top face/surface for odds and ends, special pieces of wood, dowels, biscuits, finishes, etc.

Great to see a simple solution for a common issue. Fully functional, practical and not overbuilt. Great video!

I like the separating of modeling vs building. Too many woodworkers on KZbin are putting out 30+ minute videos and I can’t bring myself to watch that much footage when trying to stay excited to build something haha

I've watched a _ton_ of videos for scrap/off-cut lumber carts. No disrespect to the other creators, but I really really like yours the best. Very clean and functional design. I appreciate the lack of (in my opinion) unnecessary joints/buttressing. Well done. I'm headed to the lumber store right now to grab more material so I have stuff to fill up my cart with (that I will be making with said material). 😂

Built a slightly modified version of this cart after buying the drawings. Used 18mm construction plywood and shortened it a bit to accommodate my needs in my garage workshop. Having an older Kreg pocket hole jig helped a lot to complete the work. With my adaption I managed to make it with only two 250x120cm plywood sheets and it’s so far working great for me.

Your idea to create the fusion 360 first and then another to implement it, is what I really miss in some other channels ! So keep up the good work.
@FearsomeWarrior8 ай бұрын
Great build and video flow. I think people get rose-tinted glasses when they see plywood in videos. Your requirements for the project are the most important. We see plywood in a video from a distance and think it is perfect. The normal affordable sheets from suppliers can have a foot or two of perfect edges and very view ‘defects’ in the face. Every supplier gets different sheets and quality changes over time. It all just depends on what is going on. The perfect stuff is an illusion. Sometimes a place has some great stuff and sometimes the same stuff has a few more defects. Sometimes I pick up a scrap of the normal stuff I buy and am surprised how perfect the piece is. Same thing when I look at my furniture inner parts/backs and shop furniture made with plywood from Menards’s.

Very true, camera makes this plywood look a lot nicer than it actually is.

This project gave me some ideas for my own tiny workshop. Mine is so small, that I need to make it very convenient and figure out how to make anything in there. Biggest problem is cutting anything big, because there is no room and winters are long and cold so I cannot cut outside most of the year. Storing anything is even bigger problem, but having something like this could help, with a little twist. Good luck with your DIY journey and the video format is great! Simple and easy to follow. Your voiceover is also calm and easy to listen to.

I love when KZbin University hands me the exact video I need to tackle tomorrow’s to-do list. ✅ Even better when the video is done well - easy to understand, easy to consume. And if you did have a sister video that showed how to tackle the task on my own, on SketchUp, I would have watched that too. I have been on the site so many times and always ended up overwhelming myself because I had no clue how to even get started… inevitably searching for someone else’s plans to modify to hopefully fit what I needed. I hope you are shown the support needed that will allow you to keep on keeping on. I will be following along, as I have been. 🤘

Good timing as I'm currently (finally!) getting around to organizing my woodshop in the small Colorado mountain town I happen to live in also. I'd probably need about 9 of these though, to handle all the cutoffs & pieces of wood I simply can't bear to part with! 🙄 And I hear you on wishing to support local businesses, but costs being such a factor these days... (Personally, I use Ebay in lieu of Amazon as I figure some folks already have enough $ to tide them over. 🤣) Good video & best of luck in your further endeavors.
