You mentioned thickening with guar gum. Any tips on a good ratio/recipe. Also do you use acid dye or fiber reactive, your colors are so vibrant! Thanks for your help!
@CasualCollisions6 жыл бұрын
Fiber reactive. The thickening ratio is generally around 1/8 tsp of guar gum per 8oz of liquid dye. You might want to start with less guar gum to see how it works for you; and, be sure to let it sit for about 15 minutes after shaking/mixing to see how thick it becomes before adding more.

I use Guar Gum; but, most people use Sodium Alginate. There's really no difference between them. Guar Gum: amzn.to/3KkyEQz Sodium Alginate: amzn.to/3I8gOye #AffiliateLink

I would like to know if you're washing out with hot or cold water and if it matters? Also is the dye environmentally friendly?
@CasualCollisions5 жыл бұрын
I washout with cold water until the soda ash has been removed and then switch to hot water to complete the washout. I have absolutely no idea. But, you're welcome to visit: www.dharmatrading.com www.customcoloursinc.com/ for information on Procion Dyes.

I love this tie dye and will try it! I found a paw print and have downloaded it. Could you please tell me what the approximate size of yours is? Thank you and thank you for sharing!
@CasualCollisions7 жыл бұрын
About 7.5 inches wide by 7 inches tall.
@candacecooper3124 жыл бұрын
When you pinch it, do you have both sides of the fabric or one? If that makes sense.
@CasualCollisions4 жыл бұрын
In the video, it's only a single side. But, if you want the paw print to be on the front and back of the shirt, you could pull both sides.

Oh u do it diff than some. Some fold it in half than fan fold it .

Love this video. How would you make the paw print on both sides?
@CasualCollisions7 жыл бұрын
You would need to tie off both sides separately for the best result. It can be tricky to be able to position everything when you're dyeing the paw prints black; but, as long as you're using a thickened dye, take your time, and cover the paw sections with plastic wrap to protect the rest of the shirt, it usually works out well.

Brother i tryied to dye one new t shirt but after dyeing and washing i look very fade why it happen so can u help me
@CasualCollisions7 жыл бұрын
1) Is the t-shirt 100% cotton? 2) Did you soak the t-shirt in a soda ash solution for *at least* 20 minutes before dyeing? 3) Did you wring out/spin dry the shirt to somewhere between slightly damp and dry? 4) Did you use Procion dyes? 5) Did you let the dyed shirt sit for *at least* 18-24 hours before doing the wash-out? 6) Did you rinse the shirt with *hot* water? If you didn't do all of the above, your shirt will fade significantly after the first wash.

CAN I USED A RUBBER BAND INSTEAD OF THREAD ?
@CasualCollisions5 жыл бұрын
Yes; but, it's going to be very difficult to get the rubber bands tight enough for this type of design. I have done it in the past; but, it's much easier when using sinew.

The shirt shown at the beginning and end of the video is the shirt that was made during the video. I've made quite a few of this design - all using this method.
