I could see him as part of a support group for former villains and henchpeople, helping folks who want to get out of the comic rat race. You could use his blinding as something sets him down to wanting to help folks avoid a similar fate. Heck you could modify the Kevin Smith story where he becomes disillusioned with the life as villains become edgier, but instead of gathering eyeballs he decides to help other folks who are also tired of the trend and want to quit.

Honestly, having him show up to tango with Punchline might be kind of interesting. She does have a habit of stepping on toes. New Kid hooligan versus Old School gangster, and actually parlay the good and bad bits of both. Use the more sinister aspects of Quilt alongside his goofier silver age stuff so he's both a legitimate threat but Punchline gets embarrassed every time he one-ups her. Might even be funny to have Punchline try to roast him and his "old foggy ways" by bringing up the passive bigotry in the era and just have Quilt be "yeah, you're not wrong. That was messed up and I regret being part of it" as kind of a subversion, and have Quilt mention he's learned a lot since he became disabled.

Personally, I would love for the Batman Rogue's Gallery to start attaching to other members of the Bat Family. There was a fun throwaway line about Kiteman trying to become Spoiler's nemesis in Wayne Family Adventures, and I think that there is real potential for other villains to connect differently. Two-Face and Red Hood always seemed ripe with possibilities to me.

What's always fascinated me about B:TBATB is that a series with a bright and campy Dick Sprang-esque art style ends up having a lot the tragic and bittersweet history from the comics. This is a world where there was a prior Justice League that disbanded, a JSA that lost a team member, prior Blue Beetles that died, and a Robin estranged from Batman. It's a lot of lived history and depth you wouldn't think of from just a general synopsis of the show.

Brave and the Bold certainly should be commended for how seamlessly it combined years of comic book lore with Silver age action and comedy and than on top of that manages to tell is own moving tragic tales. Its in general a great show case that a cartoon doesn't have to be dark and gritty all the time to have seriously moving stories in it that will stick with people.

One of my favorite aspects of 2014’s “Son of Batman” DCAU adaptation is that Deathstroke is really a Damian villain. That felt like a nice callback to Slade being a Titans villain. But it was also very organic, how DS’s ambition to lead the League of Shadows put him in conflict with Damian. Batman’s really secondary in that conflict, and it’s a nice way to center the “new” character in Damian.

Well, that's why I love the history of Batgirl and Killer Moth. No matter what Batgirl, a Killer Moth will play a role somehow someway in a story with them. Babs had a few, Cass got her's at last in Batgirls (originally she had one but it was never published. A "lost" Cass Batgirl story involving Killer Moth in his Charaxes phase targeting kids), and Steph just got ANOTHER Killer Moth story this past week in that Beast World: Gotham one-shot.

I did not know about that one-off Crazy Quilt that appeared in Blackhawk. Interesting! They do look similar (right down to the moustache!), but he doesn't have the helmet or light gimmicks that his predecessor had. Probably just a coincidence...a bunch of writers, all constantly trying to come up with new villains/gimmicks, are bound to hit on the same ideas once in a while (how many "Sandman" characters have there been at this point?). The guy who fought Robin is pretty explicitly the same one who took on the Boy Commandos, though, and that kind of "villain crossover" was unusual back then. I see that first CQ vs. Robin story has been attributed to writer Ed Herron, and I believe Herron also worked for the Simon & Kirby studio...maybe he had a hand in those original Crazy Quilt stories, too, and thought that CQ was worth re-using once the Boy Commandos series had ended?

Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and every other DC hero were locked in time and would nerve get any older or evolve but Robin was allowed to grow and evolve as no other character could. I've been down a Bronze Age rabbit hole lately. And the Robin Bronze Age Omnibus has been awesome for me. I really love those solo Robin backup stories. I would love for DC to collect all of Robin's Golden Age solo stories in another Omnibus. Don't know if you have ever covered it but I would love to see you cover the evolution of the relationship between Batman and Robin(Grayson) in the comics. The behind the scenes shenanigans are equally as interesting as the on the page events. Robin's "growing pains" is a fascinating time in the character's history.

I know this will get lost in the sea of comments, but thought I'd make the suggestion anyways: I would love for you to do a sort of retrospective going over the series finale of Brave and the Bold (which has Bat-Mite going meta as the mouthpiece of both the creators and audience about why this series was ending and what new form the Caped Crusader could appear in next) and the transition (and subsequently uphill battle) into Beware the Batman, an underappreciated but favorite series of mine that was cut down short due to many of the same reasons Bat-Mite pointed out in B&B's finale. I just think it would be interesting to go over not only a lesser acknowledged part of Bat-history but also analyze how fandoms can evolve, subvert, and even mire the very things they love (for better and worse). Great video btw, love all the B&B coverage with some top tier episode choices. (But seriously, hearing any of your thoughts--good or bad--on Beware the Batman would be awesome!)

X number of spanks to indicate age, and a pinch to grow on.

If you want something really campy and fun, the legion of substitutes special from the 80s is zany fun.

Dope video. I actually just watched this episode not too long ago, so this breakdown is a nice little treat

Batman should totally share his villains with his family more, I want to see Tim take down the Pengui n, Cassandra terrify the Scarecrow or Jason just bulldoze through Hugo Strange's mind games.

Jason would be fucked. Not as smart as the others.

The "one to grow on" spanking thing always makes me think of Michael J. Fox. He hosted a PSA series on Saturday mornings in the 80s using that phrase as a tagline. Wouldn't fly today, lol! I always enjoy your vids, thanks so much!

Love it when some criminal mastermind forces someone to perform an invasive or intimate act on him. Clearly plot contrivance because who would take advantage of the fact that an adversary is completely helpless and at their mercy....🤣

I have no idea but this robin suit always stood out to me in every adaptation idk why but it fits best in the brave and the bold style would be a good figure
