*SPOILERS* - Quick clarification for the DT cast later in the game: This Kykar deck is new to the table and when Bill cast DT no one double-checked the ruling on it requiring two creature targets. There were many other valid creature targets at the time on boards of Bill’s opponents. If Bill had targeted one of those creatures it wouldn’t have made a huge difference in the game. If he hit one of Adam’s creatures, Adam would have still very likely been able to get a single Ninja through for the Yuriko trigger, and if he had targeted either one of Jordan’s or Joseph’s creatures it would have died due to Jordan losing the game or the Damnation cast. We will do our best to be more attentive to these issues and do what we can to catch them in the future.

@@isaiahharris1637 Yes! Chulane is an anglicized version of the Irish "Chulainn". The "ch" sound loses a real voice when said. So, "Chulane" is meant to be pronounced "HULL-en". Much like the word "sullen".

I really love this content. Personally, I'm beginning to enjoy this more than a lot of the more established channels. But seriously, were you meming about how you pronounce 'CHEW-LANE'?
@CasuallyCompetitiveMTG5 жыл бұрын
I based my pronunciation based on how the competitive primer for him broke down his name. I'll paste it here: "Chulane is an Anglicisation of Chulainn, from the Ulster cycle of Irish myths of Cu Chulainn (Chulainn’s Hound). While the “ch” at the beginning should actually be the voiceless velar fricative (like a rolled “h”, or an “h” crossed with an “x”), that’s not a common place sound in English, so use a standard “h” sound. The rest of the word is pronounced “HULL-en” (rhymes with “sullen”). Not CHOO-lane. Please."

Love the content. Great work, especially for being a newer channel. I would love to see more Chulane gameplay or even Korvold. One potential criticism of this match, I believe that due to the steps of combat you can cast winds of rebuke in response to moving to the damage step after blockers have been declared which would have been a way to bounce oni or yuriko after it had been ninjutsued which if I am not mistaken probably would have changed the final pace of the game. May not have mattered but may be something to keep in mind.

I think selecting targets happens before a spell is considered "cast." you can't resolve a trigger in the middle of casting a spell, you have to wait for it to actually go on the stack. So you wouldn't have a token to sacrifice this way to the divergent transformation.
@ashra82815 жыл бұрын
Right. So kykar puts a trigger on the stack when the spell is cast. So the spell is cast that's level 1 A spirit is created that's level 2 Level 2 is let resolve. Before Level 1 resolves he then activated kykars ability sacrifing the spirit. Therefor there's only 1 creature for the spell Yes he wouldn't of been able to exile the spirit to the spell but he sacrifices it then because he's losing his commander when the spell resolves
@CasuallyCompetitiveMTG5 жыл бұрын
The way Ashra explained it is correct. Targeting Kykar happened as the spell was cast, but the spirit was created from Kykar's ability from casting a non-creature spell allowing Bill to sacrifice the created spirit for a red before exiling Kykar when DT resolves.
@leudyrodriguez24885 жыл бұрын
@@CasuallyCompetitiveMTG sorry I assumed that his second target for the spell was the spirit. I didn't know he thought it was fine to cast it with only one target.
