@@iknownot3336 It depends. You might consider it normie if you only account for how everyone has at least watch a clip or an ESPN rerun of one of the comps or two. But I doubt that more than 0.01% of the internet users know about Eddie vs Hafthor rivalry. Heck I'll even bet there are more people who know Hafthor as the Mountain than as the strongman athlete. It's like Crossfit, people know it's about doing crazy athletic stuff and some clips are somewhat viral, but not that many people actually care about the sport much less who are competing in it.

There are some events you simply need to reveal beforehand. The lighter more dynamic events can generally be kept secret. If you say “prepare for a heavy overhead“ and throw fingals fingars at someone, thats a recipe for injury. On the other hand things like medlies, rope pulls and weight over bar can be used as surprise events without much worry about injury. The event organizers are working on it though.

With Sisyphus I always thought “this is a realm where normal things like eating and drinking don’t affect people like in the land of the living. I think it’s fair to say things like digestion also don’t work the same. But strength still worked, and it makes sense that body muscles all work, such as the jaw muscles. Why doesn’t Sisyphus spend a few centuries eating that bolder and just climb up the hill?”

So cool you did a video on strongman! I love your videos. I know your content is primarily humor but there's a lot of factual information in here and as one of the best middleweight competitors to ever do it (myself, winning 6 National championships), I will say not standardizing or sharing the stone dimensions is a really interesting idea with one fault, it would disadvantaging those that do not have the prior knowledge of the dimensions, the information would almost definitely be leaked to an athlete or two and give an even worse discrepancy in advantage to those one or two individuals. Keep doing what you do, I love your stuff! If you wanted to do a weight class edition of this there is a ton of humor you could incorporate. I'd be happy to help you with that. Best wishes, Zack McCarley

To be completely accurate, Eddie Halls WSM win and deadlift were actually the other way around. His deadlift was a means to an end to get the win in WSM since he needed the sponsor money to be able to fully focus to get the win. Great video in all other regards though! Enjoyed it a lot.

We gotta remember though that when the IFSA WSM split happened in 2004, Pudzianowski has already won 2 titles in 2002 and 2003 (20 points ahead of Big Z [who won Arnolds that same year]! - so he could have skipped 2 out of 7 events and still win, one of the biggest dominations in WSM competition) with all of the strongest guys being present in competition like Big Z, Vasyl Virastyuk, Magnus Samuelsson, Svend Karlsen. And in 2008 he won in a close battle with Derek Poundstone (won Arnolds 2 times - in 2009 and 2010, in 2008 he was 2nd after Big Z)and is also thought to be one of the strongest guys never to win WSM (next to Kieliszkowski or O.D. Wilson) also ahead of Phil Pfister, Travis Ortmayer. In 2009 Big Z came back to WSM winning, Pudzianowski 2nd, young Brian Shaw 3rd. Maybe not the strongest statically, but strong enough to win WSM against the best of the best. Not enough to be TOP 3 in Arnolds though. We could argue whether being the Strongest means to basically be a powerlifter or to be strong in the functional sense, being able to move with heavy weights, throw them, toss them, lift them, pull, push, roll, carry, drag, hold.. Arnold Classic doesn't test all of these, same as WSM doesn't test all of these. So in my opinion the winner of both of these and additionaly Rogue/Shaw Classic/WUS is The Stongest Man in that particular year. I heard the idea of treating different Strongman comps same as in tennis - wimbledon, US open etc. all giving points to a universal ranking, all competitions being equal. I like it though I don't see it happening with WSM and Giants owners (IMG Media and Collin Bryce) having such a strong hold in the Strongman World.

I think that clip of a guy pulling a plane WAS Marusz Pudzian... So yes, he can absolutely lift a very heavy rock. I've seen the fucker lift a weight so heavy the bar was bending as routine training. For Polish people, Pudzian isn't just a guy who won some awards because the sport was slow at the time. He's regarded as a "Former strongest creature on earth" type of deal, and we as a nation believe that at the tip of his prime there was no stronger human on earth. He was pretty much a superhero, since he was pretty likeable, funny, even had a catchphrase and was a patriot, so that also helped.
