I worked for a lot of years as an actor on film and in theater. Stand up comedy was and still is way scarier and more difficult. I moved away from doing a rehearsed performance to just being authentic and natural and now I'm going back to allocating the time for writing and basically turning into a script and a character at least You know that I have rails to get back onto at any point in the show. That bit about his own style of delivery being dry and as if he doesn't want to live one more day being followed by indirectly saying that he's just being himself, all with the same dry tone, is such an incredible detail and very often underrated and/or overlooked, but it's these kind of things in comedy that have an impact. "When you think about it the first time you're on stage really is kinda like you're doing your first cam show, you don't know how to act, you don't know what to say, you're covered in sweat, there's a big black thing in your mouth and the only person watching is your uncle" Yeah, that's about right
