CAT 308E and Valtra N123 Cold start in the early winter

Waking up the Valtra and the CAT, defying the cold winter weather. The CAT has had problems with stalling when up in working temp. It could be that the fuel filter thaws and releases water into the fuel. I'm changing the filter.

Hello! Why you use your tractor tow hitch so complicatedly? In Valtra you can use that rear linkage button whitch is upside of the button you pressed on side panel. 1. Lift rear linkage up from that button 2. Then press that hitch lock release button down and keep it pressed 3. Lower the hitch from the button upside to it. It can be done with one hand with that style. It should work like that in all Valtra tractors, witch are equipped that style of hitch.

I do it the way it says in the user manual. First time i was going to use it i tried what you describe, because it seemed straight forward. Didn't work. So i read the manual.

@@MK72se It should work like that, at least it has worked all Valtra tractors i have driven. Important is first lift and then press lock release button, otherwise its not going to work. For some reason operator manual tells hitch release quite a strangely.

The frost doesn't really attach that hard to the pistons. Had it been thick ice, maybe it would be different. It's a common thing though to take it slow in the beginning to let the oil, pistons and hoses warm up. It usually says so in the user guides.
