💥Cat 390 F preparing a new blast💥+random top loading of various trucks!😋

The bast crew on the other shift, hadn’t been able to deliver us a blast pile to start on..😄
We are running out of rock on this site, and everything from rock cleaning to drill and blast is more time demanding.
I don’t usually do cut jobs like this, as we usually put a 352 to perform this task so that I can keep the 390 productive in another pile!😋 As I didn’t have a large pile to keep me busy, so I took this assignment this time, among loading some small dump trucks when they appeared..🤪
Some would say that it’s better economics in leaving the 390 stationary in this situation, but we did clean up everything around the blast area in one and a half day!
A 352 would have needed over 3 days to do this, and now the 352’s could carry on with their tasks at the same time!😋🤙

I am so sorry, but I wasn’t able to film the blast..🤭🙈 We had to hide behind a hill, so I didn’t have a view to shoot.. But, there is a video coming, of loading the very fine blast rock that came to be the result! (If there are any comfort in that)..🤭

Nice footage I like the subtitles lol, but still awesome. Like others commenting on here waiting for the blast I'm sure after that seeing the blasted rock being loaded and handled by excavator will be fun, I'll get the popcorn lol. I'm sure you'll have at least 50-80 tons per load!!

Thank you once more, for a very kind feedback, sir!🙏🤗 Well, I didn’t get the opportunity to film the blast, but there is coming a video of me loading from the new pile tomorrow!😄 This was about 3 hours of work in total, so I needed to time lapse some of it to be able to compress the job a bit..😅 I am still on the learning stage you know, so I think it’s fun to try different stuff!😋 Well, I could have had assistance to clean up, and I would normally have called for it!🙂 However, I didn’t have that much to do before the blast, so I just did it myself this time! But I do try to minimize my calls for assistance, since the cost per ton ratio rises drastically when I get help from another machine!😅

Hi!🙋‍♂️ Thnks for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏 Hehe, was there anything particular, you thought was funny?😅 For the record, this was only done since I didn’t have that much to do.. A 352 was loading them to begin with, but he ran out of materials, at the same time as I was stalling before the blast was shot.😄 I loaded them for a day, and I guess they were a bit anxious to begin with..😅 Easy to do mistakes when feeling a bit nervous, so I guess that was the trigger for some trying and failing?..🤪 For the record, if I had been assigned to load dump trucks for longer than I day, I would have a longer chat with them - explaining thoroughly how I would want them!😉

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm!🙏🙂 I will duly note your request, and add that I have been working with blasted granite all the time since I got to this project in December!🙏😋 There are so many sorts of rock here in Norway, that it’s not always that I know exactly what kind of rock I’m handling..🤪😄 But, on this site, we have had the same type of rock all the way, there has only been a slightly difference in density of the rock, that has affected how fine the blast piles has turned out to become!🙂

It has been a while since I did this as well, usually we put a 50 ton excavator to do this while I’m loading in another pile.😅 Did this a lot when I operated smaller machines, so it was a bit fun to try with the 390 as well!😄 However, I would choose a 352 for this myself, this one gets a bit to slow, and the bucket heel is a little bit deep for this..🤪 Difficult not to hit the wall when trying to throw the rock up against the wall, and I don’t want to do that to prevent rocks from falling don’t on my stick!😅 Well we aren’t that different, vi graver også i stuffen!👌😄

By "top loading", I'm assuming you also mean 'rear loading' the trucks?

Yes, I could perhaps have been a bit more specific and added “rear loading”😅 I don’t know why they refer to this method as “top” loading though, as this is as far from the top I can get..😂 I assume that it mainly are meant that the trucks are on the top, surely feels like a top to climb..😄

@@norwegianearthmovers Ya, all trucks can only be loaded via the top, as one can not fill a truck from the bottom. And I think that loading a truck without a tailgate is easier to do from the rear by using an excavator. Loading from the side using a loader or a backhoe is obviously best. But loading from the side using an excavator is fine to (especially if it is a tailgate equipped truck).

Hi Ben!🙋‍♂️ Sorry I didn’t answer yesterday, caught a bad headache mid day, and just had to go to bed when I got to the hotel..🙈😄 I will take your advice, must admit that I haven’t thought that much about the chat when showing premiere’s..🤭 However, I had to clear out some storage space before I went to work last weekend, as the internet on the hotel is to bad to upload anything..😅 Well, these trucks weren’t assigned to the project, they were just picking up rock for a nearby project!😋 The 352 who loaded them to begin with, ran out of materials for them. So as I didn’t have that much to do at this moment, I took them under my bucket!😄
