The 1985 search for South Carolina serial killer Larry Gene Bell. Unravel the mystery alongside the FBI's greatest law enforcers and forensic scientists.
#TheFBIFiles #TrueCrime #Search
Season 2 Episode 3: Larry Gene Bell abducted, raped and murdered two young girls in South Carolina then taunted the family of one of the victims with phone calls as he obsessed about her sister. The FBI was able to identify Bell though a psychological profile and the impression of a phone number written on a page from the same pad he forced the girl to write a letter to her parents on.
The FBI Files is an American docudrama that takes a look behind the scenes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's crime laboratory.
Real FBI cases are recounted through reenactments and interviews, due to the sensitive nature of the show, viewer discretion is advised.

Man, I didn't want to watch this at first because I have known the story from Forensic Files for years and it was one of the ones that haunted me. I'm so glad I did, though, because this is jam packed full of details I never heard of. I had never heard of Shari's sister baiting him like that. They are a strong family that belong to each other for sure.

My mother would have been one.. she was a little girl and he pulled up next to her in the front yard as she played. My grandmother was about to walk away from the kitchen window and something said “no go to the door and call Diane in! NOW!” by the time she got to the door there was a brow car parked running where my mom was and my GM called out to her to come eat lunch and he drove off…… I almost wasn’t here.

I have no problem with it either. In fact, if this country would return to using the death penalty in all cold blooded murder cases and especially murders involving drugs, we would more than likely see a significate decrease in murders. But America is and has been far too soft on crime for a long time. Plus, prisoners are not really being rehabilitated when being sentenced to time in prison. For some, it's like a vacation. Crime and criminals responsible for the crime need to be punished severely!

I was 15 years old when this happened. I am from South Carolina. I had been living in Oklahoma but came home to South Carolina for awhile when this happened. I knew Debra Mays family as a kid. And was reintroduced to her dad as an adult and living permanently back in South Carolina by then. He became a broken man and he died a few years ago a broken man. This destroyed their family and he spiraled into drugs and alcohol from guilt. The family was working class but, he was a master cabinet maker and mason. His last days he soent working on cars and doing odd jobs for just enough money to keep his habits up and minimal housing. Idk what happened with Debras Mother or other family members but, saw what this did to him. More than 2 lives were ended by Larry Gene Bell.

That's what I am saying! I have been demanding that law enforcement be accountable and help me find my own children, who I have not seen since October 2020!!! Yet there have been so many red flags, and so much harassment unwarranted and unjust by these dam neighbors that lived around me! They have no fucking clue about what's going on, cause it has nothing to do with them, unless it is something that happened that someone else is involved in, that I am not associated with! I get it now, it has been a set up, and staged this entire time, I guess because someone is bitter or angry about the fact that they didn't get away with something they did? I don't know, but you can't trust people, they are evil, and a grandpa isn't going to give a dam if his dam grandson who is as big as a grown man, rapes another girl! He's going to believe the big abusive grandson out here harming others! It's sad, I have work to do to get these monsters! They know exactly who they are!!

Maybe he didn't act alone. Abducting someone in broad daylight would not only be hard but seriously risky without help(lookouts etc.). This kind of creeps me out and makes me think of two of John Gacys victims that survived saying there were other people with Gacy not to mention when Gacy was taken to the police station after being found out, his first question was "Who else do you have in there?" Most creepy was why it was never looked in to. About this case though, it could also just be a type of multiple personalities as another person commented.

I have watched these shows and read crime stories since I can remember, but as a father of 2 daughters I can say that me and my wife would never have been so kind to him as Shari's mother was, I would have made it my business to have turned up to meet him in jail everyday to interrogate him and make sure he never forgot what he did until his dying breath, that said, much love and peace to both those families BTW, Shari's sister Dawn entered the South Carolina Pageant 1987 and won, that must have been so hard for her, she has a great operatic voice though
