Thanks I appreciate the feedback. This is just the first of what I hope to be many videos of my gunkholing adventures through New England. I gotta get more courage to get in front of the camera though. All in good time I hope. That video was more of a test than anything else. So I could tinker with the algorithm and learn how this whole KZbin think works. Many thanks for subscribing!!!

Nice video. Looking forward to seeing more. My wife and I sold our cruising sloop (Catalina 34 MKII) last summer and have moved up to a 20 ft Com-pac Horizion Cat. We chose this model because of it's trailerability(?), quality and of course looks. I know it's not a purists dream but for us its about the right tool for the job. My wife and I are retired, live in the Minneapolis area and want to move the boat about and explore rivers(inboard diesel) as well as sail, simply. We draw 2' 2" and I'm hoping that will get us into some nice areas. I like where your going with this channel and don't be afraid to get in front of that camera. The part of the fun of adventure is sharing their experience. All the best!

ggmbeg You’ll be getting into some great little coves etc with that draft. My draft is about the same. I agree I have to get in front of the camera and also do background narration etc. This video was just an experiment in taking video and editing it to music. I have come to realize that I need to do a lot more to keep people’s interest and I plan on doing so. I’m really looking forward to this project in my semi retirement as well, and can’t wait to get the boat back in the water this Spring. Thanks so much for commenting. I really appreciate it!

Many thanks. Interestingly the video was taken from my iPhone. And the editing was all done with iMovie. Learning new stuff every day. Thanks again for your comment

Hi James, nice, nice, nice. I'd love to join you in a trip. Nice music, all together totaly relaxing. Was waiting for the cat to appear, but I learned it's a type of boat. Albert

Haha! Yes, "Cat Boat" is the type of sailboat. It has a single sail, with a gaff rig. It is classic design and so therefore this KZbin Channel is targeting those people who either have one of those sail boats, or will want to buy one. This boat can venture into those cute little coves, rivers and harbors that other boats can't go because it only draws 18 inches of water. The Slocum River is impossible for most boats to go, and so therefore, if you have a shallow draft sailboat like this, you can. And then you get to see the stunning beauty of that river, where most can't. This is the essence of what this channel is going to be all about. If you read the video description, you'll get a little more insight of where I am trying to go with this channel

@@catboatadventures7208 yes, interesting. We have a lot of water in the Netherlands and when I was young I loved to go into the swamp-like reed area's with a shalow boat and watch the birds and other animals. Motorboads could never get there. Loved it.

I just recently learned about these boats from a friend, I can only dream. Just BEAUTIFUL, how would these do say as a live a board? Have subbed to the channel, hope to see more videos in particular in depth videos showcasing the interior and options. Great video here.

People have cruised them extensively, spending weeks at a time on the boat. But you need to realize that it only has sitting headroom, and so you have a real passion in order to spend a lot of time on the boat. That said, my wife and I cruise by stopping at a port and then spending the night at a B&B. And occasionally we sleep on the boat. That keeps everyone happy. But don't just dream. There are a lot of used boats for sail at Marshall Marine. Go visit them and start a conversation. That's what I did about two years before I pulled the trigger. You have to start the dream somewhere. Thanks for commenting. I really appreciate it. All the best, Jim Andersen

Brian Connelly Hi Brian. Yes that is a 10ft Trinka. I love that dinghy Many thanks for commenting. I plan on officially launching this channel in late January. Ideally I want to time the launch around the date of the Catboat Association annual meeting in Mystic. Geoff Marshall is encouraging me to do some sort of presentation at that meeting and I’m in the process of looking into that I also want to have a number of other videos lined up so that I can start uploading them once a week to try and get a conversation going I’d like to challenge the Catboat owners group to talk about all the places they’ve been and the gunkholes they tucked into over the years I plan on putting videos together this Spring on about a dozen sites in the Buzzards Bay/Martha’s Vineyard area. So I’ll be pretty busy putting those videos together this Spring So in the meantime I’m looking for ideas of videos that I can put together over the winter to help people dream Many many thanks for your interest. I’m really looking forward to this project
