A skilled operator nicely works a big machine. D9 is a bulldozer of our yearning, but D11 is also wonderful. Thank you from Japan.

Big gear for a non-mining, civil job. Nice gear too. D11T dozer, 773 haulers and a lovely 125ton Cat digger. I'm wondering if it was for a road project or some other development. Somebody earned some good money outta that one.

Hard work that, get them trucks down below, always load off a bench, if possible, expensive way to operate

I see the operator of the D11t is wearing a hardhat inside the cab. Is that required, or personal preference? I think it would be a bit uncomfortable.

I’m sure it’s required on every project with this company. This is an extremely large company and as such, hard hats would be standard equipment.

I know it must be boring after a while running those machines,but i would like to try it although i know it must take years to get as good as those operators
@TurboGSR969 жыл бұрын
+Steven Murphy I grew up around equipment, running full time starting at 16... now 33 my body is beat up and it is boring, but it is an acquired skill that does take years to do. It's now hard to run equipment but to operate it and make a company money doesn't happen right away.
@thewidower15 жыл бұрын
When you acquire the skills to operate this equipment on this scale, it’s never boring. It’s always exciting. It’s never the same thing from day to day. I spent years doing this and I miss it to this day. Especially the excavators. It’s always a new challenge.

Loading trucks like that is bad practice , you always set up using trucks on bottom ,the bench should be the length of the stick get way way more production
@alanzyoutube9 жыл бұрын
Nice video :D The thing i have always wondered is why the dump-trucks can only carry about four or five bucket loads of 'stuff', the size of them you would think that the tipper could hold twice as much compared to the size of the excavator.
@lancebowman48329 жыл бұрын
I don't know the yardage of a 5110B bucket, but 110 stands for 110 ton operating weight. A 777 haul tuck is 100 tons so a 773 is probubly 85.
@JimBruce429 жыл бұрын
BigBaddie666 The general rule is to match your loading tool (the 5110 in this case) to a haul unit, so that it takes 3-5 passes to load. If dirt is pouring off the sides after that last bucket, it would be a waste of time and energy to pack more on. Especially with the next truck in line.
@alanzyoutube9 жыл бұрын
JimBruce42 yeah i understand that, but i have always thought that considering the size of the truck compared to the size of the excavator, that the trucks usually take about four/five bucket fulls, when looking at them you would think they could move twice that, or have a bigger truck tipper/container. It is as if the trucks are too small in scale compared to the excavators.
@Gavin84w9 жыл бұрын
BigBaddie666 A good rule of thumb when matching diggers to trucks is what ever the capacity in tons of the truck (say 50) you need an excavator with an operating weight double that (say 100) this will then give you an excavator that can swing a bucket size that will get your 3-5 pass match.
@alco4249 жыл бұрын
PA diecast construction Actually, that's not quite true. The operating weight of the 5110B is a 125 tonnes or 137.5 tons, making it a fair bit larger than a 110 ton machine. The 777 actually started as an 85ton truck, and slowly grew to become a 100 ton truck. The 773 was originally a 50 ton truck, and grew to become a 60 ton truck.

Should the trucks be stopping on the lower level saving the excavator from lifting the dirt higher?
@johnschmeitzel89334 жыл бұрын
No reason why trucks shouldn’t be on bottom! If bottom was soft and couldn’t get around I could understand!
@sanfranciscobay4 жыл бұрын
@@johnschmeitzel8933 These workers are very efficient and know what they're doing. There's a reason why the trucks are at the top.

@bazzinbulgaria48265 жыл бұрын
Sort of agree with ya there Swampratt...that's the job we always gave to a new guy on a dozer. We would let him get used to the machine in a place where he can't really hurt anything (including himself)...one of the biggest things he had against him was the fact that he seemed to have no clear idea of what he was trying to achieve. ie. the end result! It was a perfect chance for a new operator to practice grading a smooth floor (without back blading), picking up lumps and bumps left behind by previous operators and putting it all within reach of the excavator...I notice he avoided that little outcrop (island) in the middle and kept going around it. We normally gave a newbie about 4 hours to prove himself before he was re-assigned as a peg man or surveyors assistant.
@swampratt365 жыл бұрын
@@bazzinbulgaria4826 Yeah it's obvious he wasn't a newbie , enough experience to show he was either not trained properly or just didn't even care . I been in the business for 40 years and can spot the untrainable or unretrainables , if thats even a word . I grew up in a time when you better be making progress in both directions of travel. My pop would put knots on our heads tracking backwards or anywhere with the blade in the air , whether it be site work , pit , or land clearing .By the 70's we used 977 track loaders or 988 with root rakes for clearing , which was a phenomenal difference in ooerating costs .

D11t with a straight blade makes absolutely no sense to me?? D11t is made to carry maximum material with a full “U” blade. D11t with a straight blade is moving half the yardage of a U blade and burning the same amount of fuel. Very inefficient!
