You broke the screen protector, was the screen under it actually broken? Just remove the protector and have another look.

This is the phone I'm using now. It's actually a rugged phone. I've dropped mine about 24 times in total and it's just the screen protector that got damaged. This is just the best phone to get at $600 or £450
@richardpowell42814 жыл бұрын
"up to" means that is a maximum threshold. So at least 50% of the time a phone would still be functioning after 30 drops. It doesn't say it will be undamaged, just functioning, which even after your 12 drops it was functioning. Similar thing for the temperatures, those aren't necessarily operating temps. If the phone is giving you temperature warnings its obviously still functional. It was a well put together video, but I don't agree with your conclusion. I think if you did a similar test with most flagship phones today they would fail miserably.

@@icantdriveslow exactly, to make the test sensible - freezer temperature as well as time phone spent - should be measured. This KZbinr does not have engineering ambitions.
@davidzapata56114 жыл бұрын
I think your conclusions are wrong, it's only giving you a temp warning and you said it's disappointing. It's just a warning message, and the phone is working!! At that point I stopped watching the video, not a review I can trust.

Yep. Im convinced. Im buying that phone! It may not fill the needs as a hardcore construction worker but im just a clumsy guy in need of a phone that doesnt get completely annihilated by a single grain of sand. who forgets their phone in the freezer after smashing it 13 times on concrete anyway right? Great video! Thank you :)

Haha thanks Georg! Yeah, I wouldn't recommend freezing it or dropping it 13 times, but it's great for every day use!

Well: 1) Submerging any Phone in pure bleach is not a good Idea and when they tell you, you can wash it with bleach, they're probably talking about diluted bleach, as pure bleach is something you should definitely not get anywhere near your skin. 2) The cracks you mention are certainly not visible. To me it looks like the protective foil has lost contact to the screen, which is to be expected with what you did to that phone. And also the whole are of "damage" was located above the actual display. 3) You get the Notification about the low temperature, because Temperature below the freezing point of water are bad for any type of lithium battery. This is a physical limitation of our current technology. Conclusion: You did treat this phone really badly in your test, which is fair, but expecting it to look like new is a very unrealistic expectation. Any "normal" Phone would have been destroyed by this test, while this one still does everything it is supposed to do.
@kevinhogberg33354 жыл бұрын
First thing. They said you can CLEAN it in bleach not submerge it in bleach. Secondly unless you’re 3 meters tall I don’t think they meant it can be dropped from that height. I believe that they meant from pocket height and lastly. I’d like to see a iPhone survive as well as the cat did
@shivalibest52524 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, thanks for your comment! I can confirm that Cat said: "It can be put directly into a bucket of disinfectant or bleach. It won't break, water won't get in the openings and there's no need to wait for ports to dry out before using them." Cat also says it should be able to survive drops from 1.8 metres, not just pocket height. You can find more information here: www.catphones.com/en-gb/cat-s52-smartphone/

ofc it says that battery temperature is too low :/ that's normal, while technology has got better, batteries are still utter trash compared to the rest, hence inflated batteries for example li-ion batteries are good, but very reactive

Very shallow review. What you expect from a girl.
@sihilius2 жыл бұрын
The review is misleading, yes. This is not because of the reviewers gender, but because of her attitude, unrealistic expectations and probably a bit of a lack in therms of technical knowledge. If she had informed herself beforehand and if she actually was interested in doing a proper review, she'd have done it right.There are plenty of males making the same mistakes and plenty of women knowing their stuff better than a lot of males do. Evidence tells you wrong. So keep your BS to yourself! Thanks!
