Tzyai munchkin cats do suffer, quite alot actually. I rescued three, had two for 12 yrs and I loved them dearly but it was heartbreaking watching them be in such pain, and the other didn't even make it to 3 yrs, he died from lordosis, which is condition that makes the spine dip and put pressure on the heart lungs and trachea, and is most often fatal as the cat grows. Almost all of them will have scoliosis, osteoporosis and rib deformations. Breeding cats because you want certain characteristics, ones that you know will cause them to have a host of health problems is not only fundamentally wrong but irresponsible

Regardless, munchkin cats are a thing, and suffer from their own particular set of health problems. That's what I'm getting at, people think it's cute and then try to recreate it despite the negative health consequences. It's certainly nothing new with dogs (pugs, king Charles spaniels, bulldogs etc), don't pretend it doesn't also happen with cats.

Almost all French bulldogs are breed via artificial insemination and birthed through c-section. Most ‘pure breeds’ are designed meaning that they aren’t a natural breed. Pure breeds are inbred constantly to maintain a look but it’s super bad for their health just like inbreeding in humans. That’s why certain breeds have ‘genetic conditions’ which would go away if we let them breed naturally.

Seriously though a quick PSA: Don't just get a pure breed because they're cute. Research what breeding does to these animals and support healthy breeds. It would be ideal to rescue cats instead of buying a pure bred because god knows shelters are overwhelmed with cats as it is. Munchkins are actually a naturally occurring thing. They suffer no health problems after they're born. The only problem that can happen does so before they're born; Munchkin cats are an extremely healthy breed.

I love her. I wish more people were willing to take in sick/special needs/older cats. My Kally is 14 years old now and she requires a lot of care. We ended up buying her those little stairs for pets so she could still cuddle with me at night. Kally is my therapy animal and honestly I couldn't love her any more than I already do. Bless people who take in cats, special needs or not.

She's overweight. She's been on several vet-prescribed diets for years now and we haven't seen progress. She doesn't really have too much trouble jumping up as she does getting down. She has arthritis in both of her hips. She is on pain meds though.

I have a six year old cat she love to sleep on you and be pet (she is also fat like the other animals) we have another cat that loves our dog he's 3 or 4 years old our dog is seven and thinks she's a lapdog (she is supposed to be 50 pounds but is 90 XD)
