Great writeup. Been thinking about getting back into wow casually since i dont game much lately (but not sure if Cata would be more fun over classic, which i got back into a few years ago as well as BC Classic for nostalgia). Cata was the expansion that i left the earliest . Arms was very noticeably less fun to play than all previous expansions, and it did not take long to put it down. Also i didnt like the dungeons as much as in previous . Also remember how melee became OP vs casters (actually started happening in wotlk as more control and interrupts were given to melee even then), afflic locks aside. If i come back to cata i wont roll warrior again... In Cata pve rotations started becoming too bloated on certain classes too, and did not enjoy warrior tanking as much either.

Not in cata, all skills in MM besides Chimera and Aim hit like a wet noodle. Any class can outdmg you in bg.

actually both demo and destro locks are good in pvp. not as good as affli, but when played right, they can solo anything. also i am surprised you put resto sham in S tier, it is so. The only way i die, is when enemy has a lot of procs (ret,frost dk, fire mage) or is lucky to crit a lot. It don't die :D

Best play styles are generally enhancement shaman or shadow priest for melee and range respectively. The rotation and way you play are unique and unlike any class you can play. I enjoyed them when I played them. But I main ret pally. Which is like 3 buttons

I mostly remember that 2k and up were just RMPs, RLS, some triple DPS and you'd occasionely meet something else. So that'd be your S tier. Early Cata there were quite a lot ferals and warriors instead of a rogue.

BM Hunter is insane in CATA. I played MM n BM in OG CATA and by the time it's all said and done my pet turned in a Raid Boss in BGs. They have sooooo much utility and a shit load of substained DMG. Rogues are almost helpless against you as well as Mages and they are the 2 most OP classes in CATA PVP as well as being able to handle DKs and Palys with all the stuns and interrupts. I didn't know 5% of what IK now about WOW back in OG CATA but IK it felt unfair playing that BM once I got geared

I see it quite weird to have the biggest important in the decision is how many comps the spec can play. For example, Aflly is fine but not S tier.

1v2d 2 MM hunters as a survival hunter in a rated bg yesterday when I was guarding mines in ab 😂 just kept dotting them and kiting/ losing them as my dmg overtime from ss black arrow expo shot proc from lock n loaded procs rekt them.

Try out BM Rogues, Mages, and Dks are OP in CATA but Survival and BM counter them with All the utility and DMG from BM...Your pet becomes a Raid Boss once you stack Mastery

Abni an arcane mage was the highest rated player through the entire original run of cataclysm but I guess its just d tier. Whats even funnier about it was arcane was broken because it hard counters resto druids and all you saw after 2700 rated was resto druid healers but I guess its just c tier.

@@The-eo4lj 2v2 is better in Wotlk. In Cata it's bad. Because there is no dampening and almost no class can kill a healer in 1v1. and yes 3v3 was always played. all of the arena tournaments are 3v3. Blizzcon was always only 3v3. Gladiator titles and rewards required 3v3 even in og wotlk. The reason private servers played 2v2 more is just because of low population and it's easier to find 1 partner and queue up.
