The fibers that connect the gluteus along the origin (the sacrum and illium), are those tendon fibers? Or does the muscle connect directly to the bone along the origin?

For all 3 glutes, the origins are more of broad tendons rather than the typical rope-like tendons. But they are still tendons 👍

@@CatalystUniversity Interesting. Thanks much. There seems to be very little/no online sources/literature about upper gluteus maximus tendinopathy in the way that there's loads and loads of sources about upper hamstring tendinopathy. Hence I was wondering if there even was a tendon there at all. And when I asked a physio the other day whether the pain along my sacrum might be some issue with the gluteal tendon, his answer (albeit in a different language) made me think that there wasn't any tendon there.

In medical literature/speak, are there terms to differentiate tendons that all converge on one spot (like the proximal hamstring tendon) vs tendons that spread out along the length of a bone (like, for example, the glutes or the quadratus lumborum)?
