I have a Kia Rhodo 2014 and last year had to have the converter replaced it was "blocked" so I got it done $2500 they did mention that there was an oil problem somewhere. Now I just had to have the converter replaced again fortunately for me it was just still under warranty. But they checked the oil situation this time and said I needed to replace the engine as something about the pistons but as I am senior lady widown know nothing about this stuff, but wonder why last year they didn't address the oil issue then. I have been adding oil occasionally in between my regular oil changes, but now they say they cant warranty this converter since it has this oil issue. so they want $4000 to fix the heads etc. Now I don't know what to do as I really cant afford a new vehicle. have I been using the wrong oil topping up the level>

I've always changed my oil with quality oil every 5000 miles even tho owners manual says 10,000 miles. I run liquid moly full synthetic. I find that changing oil every 5k helps a lot not only does it extend engine life but it also helps with things like not destroying the cat etc. Changing oil at 10k even with synthetic is way too long
