The battery temperature sensor is there to control charge voltage and not performance as you stated. Charge voltage is higher when it is cold and lower when it is hot.

I've only heard this advice once before and it's great advice. Is it ok to put a bit of dielectric grease on the ceramic part of perhaps the edge of the ignition coil boot? Some boots can really stick and break as you pull out the coil. Thanks.

that last bonus tip mightn be exactly what ive been looking for! my brakes let go yesterday and i noticed the brake hose had ruptured i replaced it and the brake light was still on and braking system was acting strange i was wondering what would cause the hose to randomly rupture as the hose itself looked fine other than the rupture and nothing was around for it to rub on. i thank you very much for the insight even if this isnt the fix i appreciate you taking the time to make the video. thanks again.

Even up until the 1990s, in the USA you could open a business with a couple of thousand dollars. Whether it be a small restaurant, store, or some type of business even an Auto Repair shop. Today, you might need a hundred thousand. But if you look at the most successful techs on KZbin, they all in business for themselves. Working for somebody else has always been a dead end and dealerships are mostly a training ground for new technicians, with a few exceptions. If someone asked me is there any money in becoming a Professional Automotive Repair technician, I would say yes if you own the shop! However, you should have opened this shop 25 years ago! As an employee in the automotive repair field, it's a dead end with no overtime, flatrate hours issues, and zero real benefits, plus no retirement plan. Typically workers in the repair industry doesn't stay in one spot long enough because it doesn't pay a living wage, and you have to buy your own tools. In many cases, you also have to purchase your own diagnostic and test equipment. If you got to buy a hundred thousand dollars or more in tools and equipment then you should probably be running your business. How long are they gone beat this dead horse? All the way to the very end of times I suspect which is soon!

Am I the only one that sees two things: vehicle manufacturers don't want you to own the same vehicle for 200,000 miles or more. Also the auto maker's are afraid of bad reviews by consumer reports on cost of ownership. Back in '04 when my F-150 was new, I read the owner's manual and it said OCI every 10k (Fuck no!) I do it every 4K full synthetic. I haven't had the same problems other people have had with the 3 valve 5.4 Geeze I wonder why. OIL CHANGE'S ARE CHEAPER THAN A NEW ENGINE!!!!

one problem if no dipstick, you can't tell if the garage actually changed your oil. This is more likely to happen if a vehicle is driven low miles

Chamfered pads is basically using smaller brake pads than what the vehicle was designed to have...like up to 20% smaller pads buy having a Chamfered edge, which reduces braking power to reduce a noise ?? What noise ?? Not good for Trucks hauling loads or trailers !! I didnt know that a mechanic installed them on my Truck. Something always seemed funny when stopping, like the brakes were not as strong. I was like ...I just had these done, WTF ?? I pulled the pads out, saw they were beveled and..... tossed them.

I recently did a wheel bearing and wheel hub replacement on my vehicle. Once i had everything else torqued down all that was left was to tighten down the axel nut, and i only screwed it in with my hand while in the air. I then lowered it with the wheels on the ground since i was told to torque when car is touching the ground. Was i supposed to use an impact gun to tighten in air first, then torque with wrench when on ground? And should i be concerned if my vehicle is unsafe to drive or if it’s dangerous since i did it wrong?

That's not how the guys at hawk performance explained it. They said it should be at the trailing edge of where the rotor enters the caliper so it will change depending on whether the rotor is hung in front of the wheel or behind the wheel and what side of the car you're on.

If you have a 2014 Honda Accord Sport, double check because changing the actuator at the shop is expensive! Your problem is the timing chain tensioner. The part is around $50!

To be honest its not very loud. Most of the noise comes from the actuator and fault, but the cause is a partially blocked oil pickup screen. So even after installing new vvts , check oil pick up screen. Otherwuse this may happen again.

The c1440 code just means the pressure sensor/transducer isn't able sense the pressure or is not working well enough to sense what's there. But many times you'll get a code for something and it just points you to the right circuit and it's not actually the sensor itself. It could be because those sensors and the valves in the hcu under the module board do fail but often it's in the wiring along the exhaust. I would visually inspect the wiring near the exhaust and around the rear end before I'd do anything else. I don't know how many times people have gone to AZ (PCM & ABS codes) or O'Reilly's (PCM codes) or had a pretty useless "code reader" and found out what code it was, replaced that part, and the problem continued because nothing was actually diagnosed.

Had my brakes done on a silverado 20 months ago and now a pad is into the rotor. I always do my own work, but had this job done because my back was out. Just went to replace everything myself, and found that the mechanic had bent the hardware tabs 180 degrees so there was nothing to keep the pads from dragging on the rotors! I was livid! This practice is no different from someone who installs a new belt on your vehicle and puts a nick in it with a knife so it will fail earlier! Never goin back….!

I've been using anti-seize for the past 50 years. Advice from a brake and front end man and a counterman? I don't think so. The difference between an engineer and a REAL mechanic is that WE fix your mistakes. Try removing steel plugs out of an aluminum head a few times and you'll quickly figure out that anti-seize is your best friend.
