Nick and Terysa, It's so nice to see y'all sailing again and seeing the smiles and happiness that you share and bring to your videos. I had watched both of Jason and Nikki's videos of their time onboard Ruby Rose 2; and I have to say that I was getting a little anxious to see a video from y'all this week. I love blue berry smoothies. The under-cabinet lighting is a great addition. I would think that adding a pulley to the forward/bow end of the boom to run the mainsail reefing line through would eliminate the chaffing. I flew in USMC tactical jets for a 25 plus year career. After every flight we debriefed what we did correctly and what we did wrong or what did not go to plan as originally briefed. we called it debriefing Good and Other. Debriefs are a powerful tool to increase crew performance and safety. Everybody owns their mistakes. Everybody learns. Great job for the RR2 crew.

Great to see the progress with the new boat, new lines, new sails, new everything. Nikki and Jason put out two videos already showing your trials with this cat and it's very evident why Nick finds himself exhausted. It IS overwhelming to take on a new boat, and especially a new design. One month from now things will be very settled and you'll feel like you're CHEATING all the time!

Hi Nick and Terysa. I saw The Wynns last video where they did the last sail with you before disembarking. They showed a shot of the lee shrouds on an upwind leg where they were flailing around. You can see this at 00:25-00:35 roughly on their last post. You probably already know the fix to this problem - elasticised shot cord (6-8mm) zig-paged between the two stays a couple of times under a reasonable amount of tension will stop them flogging themselves;ves to death. great episode this week. Congrats on the boat, I hope you both have a wonderful time in the coming years; sailing; experiencing all the boat and the world has to offer; marriage, of course; fixing all the 'fix boat list' issues - the Wynns referred to; making your way back to the Med; perhaps even back to Australia - to show the boat of to family; and anything else that life will throw at you! Congratulations on getting back out on the water on your new catamaran! Interesting to hear that one of your alternator brackets failed. Same happened to our cat not 50 hours after launch. We also have Mastervolt Alternators on our 45JH57s. Make sure to check performance of the affected alternator and take some heat readings. Vibration due to the failed bracket on ours caused a failure of the alternator a year later. Really hard to replace due to the long lead time. We are switching to Balmar.

Very happy to see RR2 out on the water. I'm happy for both of you, being back together again, and being out there on the boat together. I enjoyed watching Nicky and Jason's last two videos, and I'm looking forward to the update on the one line for the screecher, I think it was. That'll probably be a couple of weeks away. Nick, if you get an opportunity, some of us enjoy watching the videos, but will never sail. Things like what a reef is, or some of the other terms you use go in one ear and out the other. I don't understand, and we have so many lines that need to be handled, and obviously with the one line, handled correctly. I would be interested in a primer on lines and line handling on a catamaran.
