Outstanding video material, somehow just that much better that it stands out, the ocean that moves around Impi is thrilling and alive, I have not seen in any of the other blogs portray the fury and power of the ocean so believably as you guys do, you bring it as if one is there to experience it on the spot, my only critique would be that one hear to little from you guys but then again it up to you guy how much you want to share. Thank-you again for epic stuff and I cant wait for the next episode of the fearless SA crew battling the Oceans of the world, with affection from Oudtshoorn in the good old Karoo.

Wow Jolene from Oudshoorn in the good old Karoo - awesome to hear from you in that amazing part of the country! I was born in Beaufort West as my dad farmed sheep there and we often drove down to Oudtshoorn. In my younger days I held Eastern Province Provincial colours for horse riding, my horse came from Oudtshoorn and we often competed there ... memories, memories, memories :) Thanks for the nicely put critique and now that you say it, I see how that is true. Cheers and thank you for bringing back those memories of a place where the ostrich roams freely :)

I love your opening sequence of Impi going like a freight train while Ana's having a lie down in latitudes most cruising sailors never visit. Impi is magnificent and a credit to the care you and Ana obviously give her. Life is not fair with our children either as they grow up and we have to let them go. I'm sorry I can't remember your daughters name but the cruising life style agrees with her and I'm sure she be back for many visits. Lovely boat and family. I heard a saying recently that said the more holes your nets have the better the condition they are in. Fair sailing and may your nets be full of holes.
@CatamaranImpi5 жыл бұрын
Awesome to hear from you again and feeling stoked you still enjoy the opening sequence. It is one of our most memorable experiences in the oceans after all these years of sailing so I want to keep sharing it. As for Impi - yes - in sailing terms we always say 'your ship will give you the care in measure of the care you give her', and it's so true. Right now we are up in Southport and going through Impi from bow to stern as we prepare for our next journey. My daughter Jenna is now living in New Zealand and feeling incredibly happy over there ... she says it's nice to live in a country where one does not 'look over ones shoulder the whole time' and in that regard we feel really happy as parents although we do miss the kids. Thanks for engaging and hope to chat on the next vlog :)

Another great video. Made even better by great music. Right now in Chicago, our home town, -24C with a wind chill factor of -36. Yes, minus! In Manhattan Beach,CA, where we are for a couple months, 56C going up to about 70 today. Oh Brent, you do now how to edit a great video! Of course having all of those scantily clad young nubile lustoids really kept my attention ! So many social media friends during your travels must make you know how much your postings affect so many people in a grand way. Your reference to Norm & Pip was great too because I have been following them(and recently Bev) for quite some time. What a great service those Rescue boats give to the boaters arriving and departing. Too bad about the fisherman who didn't heed their advice and lost their boat! It could have been so much worse and they should get down on their knee's every day and thank God for their being saved! OK so much for the sermon.Love your site and always look forward to traveling along with you all.

Lol Edward - thanks for the comment mate. The girls were all beautiful people, both in looks and personality and so were the guys. I loved the day and so enjoyed watching everyone having a blast. We had many more folks dropping in on Impi later in the day too - just amazing! We met Norm when we arrived in Australia - awesome guy and shares great knowledge about cruising in Australia. I was greatful to him for allowing us to share a part of his video where they rightfully felt nervous. Bar crossings are not to be taken lightly and yes, those fishermen must be thanking God every day of their lives for how they lived to tell the tale. Thanks for the great comment Edward ... much appreciated mate

Hi Guys, great video as you said it would be. I was a bit lost when I saw you going into ST Helens or about to then I saw you on some back waters with all those people jumping into the waters and seeing big skyscrapers in the background thinking this is NOT ST Helens ....... Thinking it may be up the east coast of Australia say Brisbane somewhere. Great information about St Helens bar and how to get help to cross it.
@CatamaranImpi5 жыл бұрын
Hi Captain ... thank you for commenting and to be sure those folks jumping off Impi were NOT in Tasmania but in Gold Coast off Biggera Waters where we celebrated Australia Day last week. That footage was fresh whereas we are behind with our travel videos ... Facebook and social media is more 'to date' than KZbin vids. I was merely showing how we manage to interact with locals all over the world (these guys being Australians and Tasmania being part of Australia - so locals - right). You would have seen us engaging with Vikki and Tony on catamaran Lattitudes ... they had come back from Tasmania on their catamaran, are local sailors in Australia and therefore provided us with some great tips on those sailing grounds. In the video, I was trying to show how we feel it is always good to get LOCAL knowledge (Australians in this case and friends we meet through social media) ... and then I was trying to show how one can take it further by having fun with local folks we meet through social media. When I refer to 'local' I mean 'sea people of that country, as well as people from that specific location'. I'm pleased the St Helens Bar crossing was helpful and I thought to share as much as I could because when we 'googled it' initially, there was not much advice on how to enter, so I thought to share on the knowledge we had gained from Local people sailing these waters. Cheers my friend Brent

Hey Arthur, thanks for the invitation to look around. I am actually way behind with my videos so currently up on Gold Coast getting Impi sorted for her next adventure ... I am quite the stickler when it comes to 'preventative maintenance'. The vibe on Impi with our social media friends was on Australia Day last week so we included that to show how one can engage with local folks, have fun and also get educated about local sailing conditions, networking and so on :) We definitely have Tasmania in 'our sights' again - so if good health prevails we will be back as we plan to keep circumnavigating over and over again :) Take care and thanks for being so generous with your offer

Hi Bob, the sail is a spinnaker - symmetric sail for down wind sailing. we carry an asymmetric too for winds just aft of midship. Another gal onboard - whilst sailing - that would be my daughter Jenna :) Cheers mate

@@CatamaranImpi Thanks for your reply . Is your son on board w/you also ?
@CatamaranImpi5 жыл бұрын
Always a pleasure Bob - thanks for engaging. At the end of the video I have an extract with my son sailing Impi but that footage was taken in New Caledonia. I added some scenes at the end of the video for folks who enjoy seeing a bit of the boat sailing since I know folks enjoy that. This is part of the movie I did (short list movies) of Terry and I sailing in New Cal ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKGZoIeCqN1ghKs One reason why I named that video 'Wild Fun Sailing With A Production Catamaran' is because I remember when we first set off for world cruising all those years ago with Impi, many folks told us we would not make it across the Atlantic with our boat, let alone sail the world - lol! Impi still feels new and has years and years life left in her, but of course with everyone now cruising the oceans in cats, it's not an issue anymore. It sure was when we left though :) Cheers my friend

Hi Brent and Ana , I think it would be fun to put together a Utube fantasy sailing crew on an expedition sailing vessel. Brent you would be my choice as skipper with perhaps Brian from (Delos) as your 1st officer. Would be fun to give all the other Utubers positions on the vessel ha ha. What job would Ana like! I wonder??
@CatamaranImpi5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian and thanks for the comment - lol ! I think Ana already has her position as ' Commodore' ;) It sure would be a blast to have KZbinr sailors together - I often thought of getting some of my fellow KZbinrs together and making a hollywood style movie to entertain ...

Lol - I can have the T-shirt but I will always know which side my bread is buttered :) The Wynns are awesome folks - been chatting to them cos they wrote to say they will be catching us soon and we want to hook up with each other.
