Can you explain or link to something that explains how you calculate how many points spots are worth and on what scale they are measured?

+alatarINC I do a better job explaining this in my more recent videos. To answer your question, in the physical board game, the number tiles have pips beneath them that represent the frequency that number will be rolled (e.g. 6 and 8 have 5 pips under each representing a 5/36th probability of rolling that number). If you add up all the pips of an intersection, that is the productive value of that intersection. For example a 5/8/10, would be worth 12 points. 5 = 4 pips, 8 = 5 pips, 10 = 3 pips. 12 pips = 12/36 cards per turn, or 1 card every 3 turns. If you upgrade that intersection to a city, you would get 2 cards every 3 turns. I recommend memorizing the pips of each number to quickly recognize the best producing spots on the board. It also helps when you play craps! Thanks for watching!

+Neonate Gaming - Okay I have a different version of the physical board game then. Here 6 and 8 have red numbers on the tiles. Other tiles have black numbers, but the size of the numbers go down along with the probability, so 2 and 12 are written in the smallest size. - But now I know were the numbers are coming from thx :)

I miss your content, man. I don't comment a lot but I have been binging your stuff years ago before getting into Catan again. Hope you're doing okay in life.

@@NeonateGaming You're alive!!! I'm serious though. You're the OG Catan KZbinr I've been watching when I first discovered Catan. Back when I didn't know what I was doing and I keep making these beginner mistakes. Your content helped me so much. I've only watched Dylighted recently. It's very awesome when you walk us through your thought process when playing the game. If you are able to, maybe you could stuff like that again. Only if you feel like it though. No pressure! Please stay safe and healthy, especially during this trying times with the pandemic and all.

Your first harbor placement was odd as I thought you could get the one to the southwest without building the extra road AND you'd have two resources versus the brick 6 next to the desert. It was a fun watch and I learned something. Thanks.

Thanks for your comment - I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Were you suggesting that for my third settlement, I should've headed toward the 9/10/11 or the 4/9 instead of the 3:1 port by the desert?
@DallasH7179 жыл бұрын
dcourtn1 he couldn't take that port because it's only 1 space away from his other settlement and it has to be 2

how do you come up with these points?

Posted a new one just now! To be honest, I'm not super happy with it, but I shouldn't let the perfect be the enemy of the good right? Thanks for your patience!

At 6:44 Why didn't you take that trade?

There were a few times this game when you didn't take rare wood for cheap brick.
@NeonateGaming7 жыл бұрын
Generally, I agree with you. On this specific occasion: 1) I had 8 cards, 2) since it was the player-to-my-left's turn, I still had a few more turns before I could build, and 3) I already had the wood I needed to build at the port. Thanks for watching so closely!
