DyLighted referenced you in a relatively recent video. I love the way you go through the placement options interspersed with your RULES. I'l be looking through all of your stuff to help my game. Thanks!

I think that knowing you are going to eventually get the wood port and that Blue likely can't cut you off because he has no wheat or sheep, you should have built on the 9, 4, 11 rather than the 4, 11. There was no hurry and that extra wood will be huge once you get the wood port. By the way Nate, Dandy Drew says hello from the future!

Does 2 times 6 count as 10 pts or 5? If not then pts doesn't really show chance of getting any yield.

How is grey supposed be able to get his game going? He has no access to wood. No one needs pretty early on so his best bet is to maybe we get some wheat to trade for wood. But that's 2 ifs. And wheat has a low chance. He risks the others taking control of the better intersections before he even is able to expand. When his ore is relevant the better patches has already been occupied.

Does the principles apply within a single game? I understand over time you should statsitically win more games if you are consistently making good choices. But within a single game I sometimes experience going for good numbers doesn't necessarily pay off.

I miss your content, man. I don't comment a lot but I have been binging your stuff years ago before getting into Catan again. Hope you're doing okay in life.

@@NeonateGaming You're alive!!! I'm serious though. You're the OG Catan KZbinr I've been watching when I first discovered Catan. Back when I didn't know what I was doing and I keep making these beginner mistakes. Your content helped me so much. I've only watched Dylighted recently. It's very awesome when you walk us through your thought process when playing the game. If you are able to, maybe you could stuff like that again. Only if you feel like it though. No pressure! Please stay safe and healthy, especially during this trying times with the pandemic and all.

Wow! First video of yours I've ever seen, but I can already tell you are an extremely chill person. The way you rolled with the purple player targeting you was inspiring, I can tell I'll be a long time sub. When you said it may be time for a second or third beer I laughed. Love the vid, gonna go watch some more. Keep it up

Level 20, 11, 6, 2. WTF? 20 is the prof, 11 is the TA, 6 & 2 are the students trying to figure it all out. You should have been in tutoring mode. Couldn't watch this past the set up.

Who designed that user interface that is impossible to read. The player info could be four times the size used. Nice ocean though.

White's (second) should have built on 10-2. Getting all resources, beating purple to the 9 2 and the wheat port and building towards the 6 wheat at the bottom.

Post another KZbin video when you can, and consider playing cities and knights like I do sometime!
@danieltaber49243 жыл бұрын
Game two 9/10/11 was such a better first settlement. Not only do you hit the 2nd-strongest Wheat on the board and the strongest Ore, you also block Red from getting either of those resources, forcing them to fight Purple for Longest Road! With one settlement, you could have turned this into effectively a two-player game, and still placed your 2nd settlement before the only player you didn't massively impede this way!

I had to downvote this one because you took way too long and never paid attention to the timer, yet kept bitching about it...

Regarding the story about the guy who won that event, one of my favorite catechisms is: Act like you've been there. Basically, treat every situation as if it's what you were expecting. Treat every situation as if it is your normal every day thing. Be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat.
@Max_Griswald3 жыл бұрын
As absolutely atrocious as this guy played, he STILL could have won if he had just used his Knights. He DID realize that the Knights had to be used in order to count for largest army, right? That's the only possible explanation I can see for holding all those Knights for so long, especially since he could have used one early on when Blue and Green hit on the 6 and Green had an extra Wheat that Red had been trying to get for ages for the 3rd settlement.......

I've never played this game, but after watching KZbin videos for the last couple of days, this was a very painful game to watch. It's like he was just clicking buttons because they were available without considering what his win conditions were...

This is probably the worst gameplay I’ve ever seen. Even an amateur player would have known if you go first you place your settlement in the highest producing area. But it’s nice to see your way of thinking for sure
