Wonderful explanation of floaters Dr Krad! At 68 years old I had never experienced them, until I had a retinal tear and detachment following cataract surgery. Some are fading away but others are cloudy with dark patches that cover my vision. Retinal specialist is hopeful they will go away on their own. Me too!

I currently use the laser in about 10% of cases. I mostly use the Ziemer

Doc, when do you decide if a patient has PCO, and can have the YAG laser, or can’t do that because the floater is in the vitreous area of the eye. Is it easy for a doc to tell the difference in the two instances. I have floaters after cataract surgery 6 months ago, my doc said the yag is not gonna help the floaters, as everything looks intact. I went to another doc, and he believes yag would help but has some reservations on doing it. Not sure why. Thanks very frustrating.
