Great video Jeremy. I just got an email today from Virginia Wildlife about invasive species and the Rusty Crayfish was listed. Made me remember this video. Which I've watched at least 10 times already. Love your channel and Wooded Beardsman too.

I wondered about brining the crow meat also. If you seasoned, seared it on both sides. Then added some broth let it slow cook until tender. That might be a viable option for tasty crow.

To avoid oil splatter as much as possible… pat dry the fish skin as much as you’re able to. Drying the skin crisps up the skin much nicer too! 🙂

In England we have a problem with the American signal cray fish ,great eating but they strip the bait off your hook in minutes when carp fishing and set the bite alarms off so I always stab a can of tuna and leave it in my trap in the margin to try lure them away from my hook bait, a bit of peace and quiet while fishing and a good scran , chilli powder and garlic butter on mine 😋👌

Great to see you 2 together again in a video. Did you purge the crayfish? I saw and heard you put them in saltwater to for several hours to clean them out. One of the videos on Flair's channel shows this when they had a huge boil.

I didn't see your comment on MeatEater but I did point out that you guys already ate skunk. Pointed out that they may not have cleaned it the same way either. MeatEater has contradicted themselves a few times. Steve ate coyote said it wasn't bad and then went on later to say it was disgusting. Same thing happened with crow. They ate it, said their minds had been changed that crow was good, then the next episode went on about how bad it was.

Crow hunting is a lot of work, but it was tasty. I imagine it is about as labour intensive as popular small birds like mourning doves.

Being American, I can't figure out if I should be rooting for the rusty crayfish to win or not against the other two Canadian species. And it's even two against one?
@OneWildcrafter
@OneWildcrafter 2 жыл бұрын
Ha ha! I think they are only native to the Ohio river basin, so they are actually ALSO invasive in some of the Northern US states and cause similar problems there to what they are doing in Ontario.

@OneWildcrafter

That would NOT go over very well with most people :) And around here, it is hard to tell a feral cat from a domestic one. Did you see the video where I ate Canadian Lynx, though?

@@OneWildcrafter Thank you for your reply. I an in Australia and the desert aboriginal people eat them. I will check out the lynx one. Some things are different culturaly to eat.I am liking your videos. We have millions of feral cats killing off much of our native wildlife .Indeed here in the North of Australia we have feral cat hunts and many thousands are shot. From watching your videos I know you have a strong stomach. Thanks again for your reply
