Ovens Rocky Mountain Bushcraft

Күн бұрын

Chef Greg is back out in the bush. Making his best pie yet from wild blackberries.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Hey Greg! Awesome job on the pie! As I watched this though, the thought occurred to me that, it would be so much easier if you just cooked the pie mixture separately and, focus on making that Buttery Crispy Crust 'all by itself '... the crust would be fine just toasted in the pan, or on a skillet.. then, pour in the berrie mixture, THEN, Put the top crust on, and put another pie pan on the top and flip it over, just let it brown and pull it out.. I don't know, but seems like that would be easier.. 🔥🥟

Greg, I don’t think anyone else could have pulled that off the way you did. Really, anyone else rolling out pie crust on the hood of their truck would seem nuts. For you, it’s just the most natural thing in the world. Love your channel!

Okay, I am impressed! As the family baker and pie maker, I love how you prepared the dough, the off-the-bush berries, and the oven in particular. Nothing is as good as blackberry pie--especially made in the wild. Many thanks.

Another amazing video. I was watching it with a big smile on my face, from the beginning to the end, laughing of joy at some parts. Such a big hart, so genuine, so cute! One doesn't have any choice but to love him. Inspirational , comforting, with a lot of calming effect. Greg has a therapeutic tone, it is the vibration of his voice that makes your day. Finn is a happy sweet friend, always busy checking the area around. You might be thinking that he is just playing, but no, he is following his own plan of work. Smart and sweet Finn, he deserves a medal ( a very good life he was already offered ).

Hey Greg; Ahh, how I have missed your Mug inbetween the last time I have seen you man! Ya always doing something different & i suppose you know your peeps well! Like You &&-I, Great old Hippies. You always make me feel better, & more calm, cz, I can't do right now or I'd be there! There's Nothing like hanging in Ma-Nature! Doing creative things, using whatever you forage for, Fish, etc. You are so inspirational to so man! We get something out of whatever you happen to be doing! So. Cool, and Laid Back style! You always know what you are doing, how to do it, seldom crap happens, but you just let it slide! That's what being in the Outdoors is all about! Never Guaranteed! Wow do I remember the Authentic "Pop" Rocks"! I heard if you get the rocks out of the water, less likely to Pop! ? The berry's are wild, so they do get smaller, w/bigger Patches like that. If you trim them back after picking is over, they will come back bigger, n Much Better! Picked Berries fo decades! Helped Mother make Pies, Jellies, &Jams! BB-BARS,Like small Turnovers! I of course made mine w/drizzle of frosting. U R exactly correct, don't play with dough,R won't roll out well! Great job! Sometimes Mom would brush w/honey + sprinkle sugar on top for a nice glaze! I know, lil to much Fancy Shmancy for the outdoors, just Sayin! Agh, I thought ya dropped the Pie out! NO, it wouldn't be a show if everything was perfection! 😅, Ya Always Crack me up man, that's why I ❤,& Subd. When I first seen ya! There's nothing you Won't Try to do, till you succeed! Love that about you! Hey BB-Finn, ❤ M! As Dawgs have sensitive noses, thier sensitivity on their tongue as well! I think that was too hot for him! AND YA BET, Everyone Loves the Campfire Chatt, and Stories of the Past Experiences! So very intriguing, and it also teaches as you go along! You are a Teacher & a Treasure of Knowledge and Experiences! Please do Share them! God Bless you, Fin, Family and Friends! NZ.,✌❤🤗🙏👍😎😘🐕
