Can't comment on the Reel or line in this video, but the rod, rigs, landing net and bait on here have done be proud over the last couple of seasons.

I like the sound of the barbel line, but is the diameter just too thick to use in clear rivers. Cheers.

Low diameter isn't everything, regardless of breaking strain, the thinner it is, the easier it is to break. I've used loads of low diameter lines in the past and had problems with them for barbel. I've certainly not found thicker line to catch me less fish. In fact, I probably catch more because this stuff never breaks! 👍

Very good points. I fish the Dorset stour, which doesn't have the amount of barbel it used to have and it's quite hard fishing. When you do catch though, the fish are quite big. I've just bought some of the Korum barbel line thanks to the video ;).. I was also thinking of getting some Korum xpert mono line as i've heard a lot of good things about that line. What's your view Anthony on the xpert line compared to the barbel line?. Thank you for replying.

I've also used the Xpert mono for a number of years and again, i've had no issues with it. The Xpert reel line is a fantastic line for the money and the Xpert mono on the little square spools is very strong. Again it's great for Barbel hook links due to the fact that it's not pre stretch and not low diameter. But for me, the Barbel Line is best i've used for the hook links.
