Catch more Crappie with this jig (East Fork Lake)

How to catch spawning Crappie on standing timber and laydowns in the spring. Today we head out to Harsha Lake also known as East Fork Lake in southeastern Ohio, to locate and catch some fish to eat (catch and cook) but I have never fished this lake so i also show you what I look for when crappie fishing a new body of water and the bait and gear you would need to catch White Crappie.

Yesterday I was fishing for some bluegill and green sunfish for catfish bait and some crappie for me to eat and the carp were tearing the banks up

I only have 1 crappie rod it’s a fin wick 6 foot 9 medium light fast with 6 pound mono and a 2000 size reel (lews) the jigs is a tuxedo black and chartreuse 2 inch grub with a 1/16th ounce jig head

Lmao 10:19 all of east fork dam is snag central. If you want to really challenge yourself try bank fishing from the boat launch area where you were at the start of the video. I have met many an angler who packed it in early due to the heinous snags that lie just beneath the water there. I personally bottom fish for catfish so I just come to expect the occasional snag or so.

I plan on doing some catfishing there in the fall I have heard there are some decent blues

I haven't managed to catch too many blues. I normally catch channel cats or Flatheads. Fair warning, don't use a casting net on the shorline as it will get caught up on the rocks and you will break stuff. My pr at that lake was a 5lb Flathead that I caught just below the road going to that parking area. I'd love to see what monster you could pull from that dam area. There's rumors that monsters lurk in the depths.
