ive caught my largemouth P.B on the most cheap budget gear! A rusty old 4/0 hook with a hand caught nightcrawler! it was an 6.3lb Largemouth bass, that's decent for a Vermonter who only has a 30 year old aluminum rowboat to get around.

You really need to keep growing that stache out and curling it !!! My favorite sleeper lure for shore fishing topwater is the jitterbug. Even if I don't get bass hitting it I can get bluegill to nail one and not get hooked.

Great review for those of us who don't like to spend too much on lures. I'm gonna add some suggestions. Skip the $1 spinnerbaits & buzzbaits because the wire is super flimsy/weakand the blades rust quickly. For about $3, pick up the Reed Runner spinnerbait. An inline spinner comes in handy too, and the Blue Fox Vibrax is a winner for under 4 bucks. For around $4, the Strike King Buzzbait that has 3 propellers on it. This allows you to fish it slower, even more so if you throw a grub on with it for extra action. Another good topwater is the Heddon Baby Torpedo. I prefer it to the Zara because it's much more user-friendly. For a couple bucks, pick up a Pot O Gold brand spoon. These are deadly lures for all species of fish and this brand has phenomenal action. Rebel Craw is a great small crankbait. For plastics, the Luck-E-Strike brand are super cheap but it comes with a caveat. They smell like a tire factory. To remedy this, pour a little water in the bag with garlic powder keep them like that.

One brand that I really like is creme, they sell cheap soft plastics at Walmart 1.25 here in texas, maybe you could find those. Also ozark trail is making soft plastics now too

I’ve been using yo-zuri from Walmart just like the ozark trail one you showed it’s been getting me bites almost every time I use it I caught 6 bass in one day on a good day with it I bought the frog just the day before haven’t been able to try it but my concern is it smells like spray paint
