Hello Tim, Loved this video. You have a great sense of humor…. Great to see the slow motion sections which show details about what is happening with the catches.

Thanks for the series! I'm currently in a state of minor shock from some repeated catches and I needed content like this to help me figure out what I'm doing wrong, and get over the hesitancy to get back at the lathe.

Thank you! So useful that someone is willing to get a catch on purpose! :D

Great video! Thanks for the advice. I feel like I have probably heard all of this before...but that hasn't yet stopped me from getting plenty of catches with a skew. Maybe this video will cement all of these ideas of how to use one in my mind

I enjoy all of your videos Tim. I've been trying to master the skew for several years but I still only use the peeling cut. Too many catches otherwise. If I'm ever going to get on top of it I will have to practice, practice...

I'm a newbie and would appreciate your input.. I've been told a skew's blade should always be parallel with a work surface.

6:58 какой смысл подрезать торец так , если это намного легче можно сделать"носиком" резца . 6:58 what is the point to trim the end so if it's a lot easier to make the"nose" of the cutter .
