Yvonne knows the true trick to dealing with animals in this way...Be patient and gentle, but also don't dilly daddle. Just do it. Be gentle, quick and don't give them time to think about it. It always go much more smoothly. I am a vet tech, so I know it takes practice. Be cautious, but not afraid. 🧡🧡

I imagine if you only started halter training with full grown horses it'd be so difficult! Especially since you need to have foals tied up for their own deworming and during mare's vet visits or other activities. I'm sure people leaving negative comments do so just out of concern, but should keep in mind you've managed to grow so many generations of excellent, well-socialized horses and might have determined what's necessary at what point in time ❤️❤️

Halter training and tying up the foals is necessary to avoid them injuring themselves and others. How does anyone think you are going to handle them without this training, particularly when administering medical aid? It is so lovely to know the next generation are growing into such lovely and accomplished horse-carers.

Anyone leaving negative comments at seeing foals learn to be haltered and tied obviously don’t realize how far horse training has come in even the last 50 years. In the old days, horses were “broken”, a term that was sadly correct because they used fear and violence to force them to do what men wanted. What you see Stal G doing is positive reinforcement from a young age, so the horses learn to enjoy working as a team with humans. Which do you think is better? If you want horses to be wild and live as nature intended, that’s fine for wild horses, but the fact is most modern horses would not be capable of surviving wild, they’ve been bred for thousands of years by humans and that has changed them on a fundamental level. They need us to care for them, and to do that, they need groundwork, halter training, and to stand to have their feet done, to get wormed and vetted, even if you don’t intend to ever ride or drive or breed them, they need this training to simply be safe around people. Horses are massive, powerful animals that can hurt people without training. Horses that are dangerous get put down, and none of us want that. Rein and Yvonne do a great job showing all this to those who don’t understand the work that goes in.

I'm always a bit surprised about their weight. 300, 400 or 500 kilogram. And the young horses aren't fully grown. When you see them moving in the arena or in the meadow, they sometimes seem to fly. They don't look that heavy.

I have seen enough of your videos to know that you always treat the "girls" with the utmost care & respect. I would never presume to criticize how you handle them. I can see how tying them would be much safer for you & less stressful for them, even preventing possible injuries to the horses. Young Rein is very sweet. What crops/ animals are on his parent's farm? Usually we see the owner, Rein, doing the squirting of the medications into the horses. It's very interesting how the next generation of horse lovers is learning from you with the experience. Faya is helping as well---a family affair!

@@LindaEll89 Thank you! Young Rein is always very attentive to what everyone at the Stal G says and does. He seems so observant and I can't imagine Rein Sr would permit someone who didn't care deeply for his horses to work there because it is a team effort. I enjoy seeing how everyone pulls together to get the 'not fun' jobs done. Wow, a goat farm! For milk and cheese production? Or are some of them for sheering for their coats?

I can’t understand why people are sending you eny negativ comments at all, because I think everyone of you are doing a wonderful job with the horses!!! 😍 Every day I’m looking forward to your videos and wish I could be there with you and your lovely horses! I’m from Norway and here we call the spots on the horses for well-beeing spots! So your horses loves the way you are handling them! 🥰 We have a horse too ( my daughter is a dressage rider) and our horse is a Kwpn imported from Nederland and her nane is: Donique H, a beautiful 12 years old mere. Love to you all from Anne- Grethe.

Any negative comments should be ignored. You are a professional and your employer wouldn't let you hurt the horses. They get excellent care and love. Yvonne I don't know if you will see this but I was concerned when someone sent mints for the horses. Unfortunately, people can be destructive and unless you know the giver, I would be careful not everyone is as nice as you and your friends.

great way to show those who make negative comments about how you train your foals to be comfortable and confident while tied up, they have no idea what they are talking about. You show that with the proper training and patience you raise outstanding animals that anyone would be lucky to have.

I noticed a very cute but different looking cheeky filly at around 2:16 mins. She had her halter on but it looks like she had escaped from her stall!!! .. Hmmmmm ...I don’t think she is used to being tied up from a young age. You may have to feed her some hay to coax her back in! Or maybe some pellets? Non? Ok- try some sugar lumps then ! Please give her a pat for me and my pet kangaroo all the way from Australia. Xx
