Alfie Russell’s Angling

With a few hours to spare, I decided to go lamping for carp on a small urban River. Having managed to find some it was then time to try and catch one!

Interesting video. Disproves the generally accepted view that light scares fish. Many years ago, following advise from the late, great, Peter Stone, I used to fish for big roach, tench and bream with a bicycle lamp shining in the water to illuminate a float at night (do any big fish anglers even float fish now let alone at night!) and it certainly seemed to have no detrimental effect on my catches. I love your enthusiasm and simplistic way of fishing but I do question your sanity as I'm not sure I'd want to fish where you are during the day never mind at night! The fish are obviously there but maybe because I'm older and no longer living in London, I value my health and wellbeing (and tackle!) too much to risk dealing with the numerous weidos and oddbods that seem to frequent the area you're fishing. Anyway, another great watch and I look forward to the next one.

The environment is 80% of what fills the carp fishing cup. Busy and well manicured lakes with named fish just isn't the one.

I genuinely focus more on my fishing than filming! In these short little winter sessions it’s about getting out and getting a bite. I tried to film as much as possible ❤️🙏these areas are built up and also risk of muggings taking loads of camera equipment believe it or not I film a lot on my iPhone mate to stop this. :) hope it helps! 😊

The main issue is I bet u carn’t catch John because of your inability to think outside the box ! Your lamp is obviously very “ dim” !

I bet you manned one rod, whilst the camera man manned the other, opposite ends of the stretch where you'd seen fish, you both had one which is why you didn't show the takes or either of you playing fish!, then you gave the game away by talking about a double take!
@alfierussellangler
@alfierussellangler 6 ай бұрын
I filmed dropping a rod in. (Don’t need to film every rod placed) mentioned I’ve put a couple of rods out. Moved spot. And had a double take. Camera man hit one of the rods and so did I (hence no playing footage) also explains why there is 2 carp in my net. As they was landed close to each other. Hope this helps. Positive vibes only on my channel. Or don’t watch at all :) good luck when fishing. Alfie.
