very nice video, What is the maximum growth size blue catfish?
@danielwells061710 жыл бұрын
Here in Iowa on the Mississippi the water drop from 75 to 65 degrees and the fish have stopped biting completely. However the little one that are caught seem to be in a totally shocked state and barely breathe.

Narbe Blau thats not good, theres always a period between summer and fall the fish seem to be slower. dont give up as they will get more active later this fall

Hey videos just stumbled across them yesterday and I'm hooked. I was wondering if you ever fish in Ohio, I line around the Cleveland area and looking for a go fishing spot around town for big cats. Only place I keep hearing is Wallace and Coe lakes but never have any success when i fish them. Can you recommend a place and type of bait thanks allot.

Ive only fished the Ohio river in Ohio. some kind of fish bait like shad or bluegills work the best for the cats.

Looks like a day untangling lines Steve. Seems like some days I spend almost as much time untangle lines as fishing. On the plus side it usually means your catching good sized cats. I usually fish with four to six rods, depending on how I'm fishing. Don't catch as many monsters as you do though. Thanks for sharing the video.

I suscribed. Love your videos. I've been wondering why you choose to catfish from a bass boat instead of a Big Deep V? Like maybe the New Crestliner Intruder 2200 or the SmokerCraft American Angler Phantom 202.

Steven, I am resident here in louisville and my dad and I take an annual catfishing trip to green river around Morgantown. We usually go out there for a couple days and catch a bunch of 5 and 10 pound cats. This year I studied up by watching your videos and took your advice on freezing my bait and using gu pouches and heads. We used bluegill as skipjack are not very available on the green. This year was our best year ever and was capped off by a 48 pound blue cat. Caught it on a rod and reel using a Carolina rig and it took a half hour to land him.....and he broke our net. Thanks for your videos and check out my channel I will be posting a short video of the fish.

@joshuapeters48924 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve Douglas is Josh Peters also I want to know what kind of rods you be using and also what kind of bait you be using to catch catfish
@mrjamesamorgan5 жыл бұрын
i know this may seem like a broad question but you are in shorts so I know its warm outside and in alabama. I never really hear you really speak about thermocline in any of your videos, but here in Arkansas do you think the fish are that deep in the summer and not just the winter? I feel like here its a dead zone below the thermocline. I haven't even looked for fish 60 foot down in the heat of the summer because usually I don't see them below 20-30ft.

Mr. Douglas, thanks for the informative videos. It looks like you're fishing the flat at the mouth of Shoal Creek. Some local knowledge for you: there is an old aqueduct that crossed Shoal Creek before Wison Dam flooded the lake. This aqueduct was part of the old Muscle Shoals canal system from the late 19th/early 20th century and is still down there to this day. It's charted on Navionics charts, but unfortunately the Lowrance charts don't cover it. It should be easy to find with down-imaging sonar though. Link to historic picture of the aqueduct: img.photobucket.com/albums/v55/dkjpika/Shoal%20Creek%20Aqueduct_zpsgdonsfqs.jpg I would think it would provide some nice structure if you're looking for that.

I think you would catch a lot more fish if you stopped talking to the camera and watched your poles. Not trying to be rude.
